Another update, more money being spent lol

Had issues with the front wishbones as they was for a non sport so no hole for the arb to sit in. So after killing the wishbones to fit the powerflex bushes we realised there not going to fit lol

Got a refund on them as they was listed to fit the 2.0 but wasted some time with them and ordering new wishbones from Paul @ RPD

"Buy cheap by twice"

Had the black series wishbone bushes and inner and outer black series arb bushes fitted.

I also had the inlet and injector guard shot blasted and redone in gloss black and I re done the red on the RS to as will suit my car better.

Had my new pedals fitted which I'm happy about as was one of the things I wanted doing since I had the car.

Some pics :-0

Next jobs are to get the new refurbed callipers fitted, gear box and engine oil change and get this rough idle I've had since I picked up the car.
Timing has been checked and was out quite abit but is still lumpy and sluggish when driving sometimes so want to get it looked at as plugs, coil packs, leads and injectors have all been changed so gonna take it to engine dynamics and get it on the rolling road.

Want to book Cadwell soon and hopefully do the 4 hour trip to Anglesey on the 12th September.

Cheers

It never felt sluggish when I had it. At Surrey Rolling Road it made good power for a 172 that has no engine mods and a cat still fitted.

Something isn't right with it and timing was out quite abit. It's changed the idle some but it still has a running issue. It drives fine but I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of the problem

Well fitted the black and red inlet and I recently discovered it was for a 182 and blocking of the "purge valve" wasn't working and was causing the engine to whistle on idle so I gave up and sprayed my one on the car with matte black VHT paint and done the cambelt cover and throttle body to.

Bay needs cleaning up so ive started to clean it up and looking half decent.

Today I fitted the air ducts to the fogs. Gives the car a better looking front end and I will route piping in time to.

One step closer with the engine issue. Been speaking to engine dynamics and they wanted some info on manifold pressure and fuel trims. Fuel trims are wrong and ecu and is cutting back fuel and need to get a better running pressure on the manifold as I only noted 410 and wasn't sure if it went any higher.

Thanks

Just had the shoot with Daniel Jenkins and got some great shots.

So my on going issue with the engine is nearly closing I hope. It's with RS Tuning next week to see if the can sort it and map it too.
Fuel trims are out as the ecu is holding fuel back as its running rich and the manifold pressure at its highest is 429 so to high.

I've got a OE map sensor from Renault to fit to rule that out.

Stay tuned....

So finally got the car on the RR to see how it would perform as had a few issues with it not running right.

Was RR by previous owner @TimR26 when he had it at Surrey RR I believe.

It ran 168.8 which is good. Since then it's had new injectors, fatty induction kit and a new OE map sensor and also the timing corrected as it was out quite a bit.

Today it run 172.8 with above corrected. I was pleasantly surprised due to the engine not running right and having near 100k on it.

Then after Paul at RS Tuning played around with it we see a figure of 178.6 which I'm more then happy with and the drive is so much better and more punchy and pulls much better.
Cheers

So I may strip the interior out and all the carpet etc but I do love the OE look interior.

Booked Cadwell for this Monday and then realised the missus is at work so I have my two girls :-(

Tbh I would have like to get these fitted and tracking done first so it's not to bad.

I have a clunk and squeak when coming of my drive so ordered some PMS solid top mounts to cure it hopefully
