Problems with 172 - Grrrrr

I picked up my 172 2 weeks ago and it had a judder at tick over and the engine was making a squeeking noise. I finally got the car booked into be looked at today and they rang me to tell me that they have found the judder and noise and it's comming from the cam belt area.
I asked if they were going to fix it and they said no becaise all 172's have a tick over problem?!!?!?

I finally got them to agree to look at it and they tell me it's such a big job they are gonna have to send it to another garage and they have no way of knowing how long it will be.
So now i'm without 172 for god knows how long!

I've told them if they can't fix it i'm going to refuse the car and ask for a refund. they've admitted there is a fault and I know for a fact there's no tick over problem with 172's

This tick over problem may be the lumpy idle that people on here are regularly talking about.

the only prob i have is when it is cold and rev it up to 2 grand and it judders. but as soon as it warms up it is ok??
