basically just got the log book and it says its had 2 previous owners when the guy said it only had on :s

does it matter or am i being silly?

2 including him? or excluding... its a grey area... as your supposed to include yourself...

Are you meant to include yourself? Previous means before/prior to. So if i was selling my car it was owned by two people before me so had 2 previous owners as i havent sold it yet.
When the next person buys it the car will have had three previous owners, the two before me + me and the new owner is not included.

To the previous guy it would have been just one previous owner, now it's registered to you it will have two. Or have you included that?

Right, say the guy you bought it off was called Dave.

Here is a history of the car:

Bought brand new by John Smith.
Sold to Dave. The car now has one previous owner (John)
You buy the car. It now has two previous owners (John and Dave)

If you were to sell the car you would say it has 2 previous owners.
Once someone else buys it their car will have had 3 previous owners (John and Dave and MAx)

Its not rocket science! Just basic maths lol

had his name and on the side 2 previous owners but it was kept in the family apparently and his grandson brough it from brandnew

so im thinking....

his parents buy him a brand new clio but put it in there name until he is old enough

then his name and then his grandad the guy i bought it off?

if you sell a car on ebay and enter the reg the data it vrings up in previos owner includes yourself...
