Matt's BG 182

  E46 M3, Clio 182
I'm no stranger here, previously owning 4 clio 182's, a few weeks ago I bought number 5, this one is a keeper!

Before I'd even bought the car, I managed to source a set of trendlines and a genuine trophy spoiler ready.

Onto the car, I was torn between a RB and a BG, but with this beauty coming up, I couldn't say no.
It's currently in 93k, in excellent overal condition, full history with some nice mods, including B14's, ram air filer, sabelt wheel and K-tec system.

It was a 4 hour trip upto Liverpool and I wasn't disappointed.

Steady trip home seen a 45mpg return, along with a couple of service station pictures. The car was faultless and I'm looking forward to the ownership.

I then got the spoiler painted BG which was fitted today along with the seats, the seats are on Jon Foz X-low adaptors and the driving position is spot on.

Unfortunately I haven't managed to drive the car since I bought it, it's been sat on the drive and it serious need of a good clean. Anyway, onto the photos..

Few more plans with the car, which I'll be sure to document on here to keep track.

All comments welcome :)

Very nice! I’m about to remove my seats to swap them for something better. Can I ask how easy it was to remove yours?
Thanks mate, it's really easy, there are 4 13mm nuts for each seat under the car. You'll need a 13mm deep socket. The ones closer to the side of the car are covered under rubber grommets, you need to remove these first. The ones closer to the centre of the car are through the exhaust heat shield, you may find you have to Jack the car up to get to the middle nuts. Then carefully lift and tilt the seat back to get access to the plugs underneath the seat inside the car. Unclip these and the seat will come out!

Managed to clean up the recaros today, used Autobright direct alcantara cleaner and soft brush, really happy with the results.

Also managed to pick up some black insert xenons to replace the grey. No issues with mine, but much prefer the darker inserts. They've been machine polished, ready to fit.

Also got some bass ports to remove the fog lights on order, will be upgrading to 197 brembos in the near future.

The last couple of bits to sort out for the front end are a cup splitter, 3/4 front plate and some headlight blanks, thinking colour coded.

Another small update.. private plates on with 3/4 front plate, but I've not got a picture yet.
I've also order the stud and nut conversion from Pure Motorsport with spacers for the new wheels, which I collected today. 15" 1.2s wrapped in AD08R's.. I'll get round to fitting all this next weekend.

First thing is a quick photo of the 3/4 private plate from the last update, much nicer imo

Today I've manage to move on with a few things, firstly the exhaust, it had a pair of sockets holding it in place, I changed these for polyflex mounts.
Old rubber mounts with sockets in situ.

New polyflex replacements ready to fit

I'm really happy with the result, below shows the old vs new

New:

I then fitted a PMS stud and nut kit along with the team dynamic 1.2s. Gone for 20mm spacers up front and 10mm spacers in the rear. Really happy with the stance although I may need to alter the height of the Bilsteins when they settle again.

Another small update:
Fitted the black background xenons, which make a nice improvement on the front end, plus they're alot clearer than the old units.

While the front bumper was off the car, I wanted to remove the headlight washers. I couldn't find any cup blanks, so originally bought and fitted some carbon blanks as per pictures below.

I then managed to find a clio cup front bumper that came up for sale at a good price with both cup washer blanks and a genuine splitter, it was a long round trip, but was worth the trip.

Removed the washer blanks... (the coin is a reference to show my painter the size)

The plastics have all been treated to Qtechnic trim restorer, and the bass ports inserted into the fog grills. All this will be fitted at the weekend. I also need to trim restore all the plastics on the cars too, such as mirror base, scuttle pan and wipers.

I annoyingly managed to snap the cup splitter when removing it from the bumper. I'm going to bond it together and fit this weekend, however, I've got a feeling ill never be happy with it, so the hunt for a genuine splitter continues.

The next things on the list are:
- some minor interior changes
- pms shifter
- brembo calipers with new discs all round and some fresh fluid.

The cars still not being used, but I'm looking forward to the first proper drive out!

I was going to call you a jammy bugger for finding a bumper with blanks and splitter but seeing you snapped the splitter I'll just leave you to wallow in sorrow?.
Black headlamps look much better on bg clio's, but it's strange how sometimes you look and they seem more grey than black!

I forgot how brittle they are! Really gutted I managed to snap it being too heavy handed!

The headlamps look much better, I think they still look a little grey against the black paintwork, as opposed to the lighter colour cars.

  Clio 172 Cup
I need a lift in my cup lol bit bland although want to keep it standard this is definitely one modification I would do

Due to a change in circumstances and needing to do many more miles in the upcoming months, the car is now up for sale.

It's currently on 94,500 and will rise very slowly as i continue to use it for work.

If anyone is interested, please contact me on 07902393199 and i can send across a full advert and many pictures.

Thanks,
Matt

What’s the price? Afraid it might be more than I’m looking to spend though circa £3k. I’ve been set on something else but reading this thread and the attention to detail has just swayed me ?

Feel free to send me a message if easier. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments chaps.

I don't really want to split any parts, as it's set up so well as is, however, if I do struggle, I may be tempted to remove the nice bits!

I would keep this car if i could but I just don't have the space to put it, and i know it would just sit without getting used. I have recently bought a new motor bike, which will always get chosen over a car and has already made it's way into the front room due to the lack of space!
