Free insurance - final chapter

Right ive got about 11 months left before my free insurance runs out. I want 17s and to lower 60mm. Just phoned them up and they said that cosmetics are fine and will just incur an extra £150 charge on the excess. But any performance mods, eg filters, exhausts and suspension will invalidate the insurance completely. Is it worth me taking the risk and dropping it or should i just be patient?!

lmfao renault insurance are so funny

i had my lowered suspension claimed, cost me an increase in excess of 90 bucks and 15 buck admin fee

see what i found, just keep phoning back till you get the result you want.

half the staff dont even know what renault make..so keep phoning back or ask to speak to someone else...worked for me!

Yes Spirez same dillema here....just ordered 40mm springs...so lads you wreckon I just phone up and they will tell me I gotta pay a small fee and it will be okay?

had lowering springs and induction kit on clio when it was stolen and writeen off, never declared them

insurance paid out to the value of £6750

thats ok if it gets stolen as there would be no proof of any mods but if i crashed i would be f**ked! Think im just gonna have to ring around and wait til someone says its ok! Dont really want to risk not declaring, far too many immigrants in this city who find it funny to disconnect their brake lights, wait til you are a suitable distance behind them, slam on their brakes without you realising before its too late and CRUNCH!! One of my mates got crashed into the back of and insurance refused to pay out as he didnt declare his 18s. Luckily he managed to claim from the immigrants!
