engine noise ??? please help

Hi guys , just had my cambelt replaced (cars done 61k phase 2 172)by a renault specialist and im sure my tappets seem alot louder now than they did before it was done ?? Is There anything they may have done to cause this as i cant understand it?? car was serviced with fresh oil and filter at the same time too.... Doesnt seem to be so bad when cold but once warm its louder...

This seems to be a very common problem! Mine is the same. I have a thread in this section about it. Fine when cold, loud when warm! It's at the mechanics at the minute getting diagnosed.

Invoice says oil used evolution sxr 5w/40 elf, its really strange as it wasnt any were near as loud before it had the service/cambelt , is this a good oil to be using??

Nick if you could let me know how you get on / whats found wrong with yours i would be very greatfull might point me in the right direction, just hopeing its nothing to expensive as ive just spend a small fortune getting the belt & service done i was expecting the car to last a fair while before it needed anything else ...

yeah, will do.

My mechanic thinks it's low oil pressure so the tappets aren't getting a constant feed. Cambelt off job I'm afraid. I'll post my results up once I know.
