Ah the maintenance lul..... Mod hunting will bite again soon!
Looking lovely as ever!

Yes I know mate. It's inevitable really. However I'm not sure what to do next really. Don't Want to spend money, just because. However my steering wheel still hasn't been retrimmed yet.....

RoboCup!!!!
Want one!

Haha. The wife got it for me a few years back. I like cool mugs. I chipped it not so long ago and was gutted, but I improvised and painted the chip red with her nail varnish for the blood effect!

I just tried having a look and bugger me, they've gone up in price. I'm sure she paid £8 from Menkind. I guess this is worth keeping then!

Let me known when your doing your oil change mate,as ive been looking at what oil to get & do mine soon to.If your doing it at work & ok to pop down?,prob go with Elf oil

Yeah man. As per text message, I'll give you a shout.

Looking great!

Thanks Ant.

Great update, always sits so well.

Cheers Tom. It's all the about ride height/arch gap!
Good update dude. Even if nothing "much" has happened its still good to get an update.

Yeah I guess. Just felt like it was a bit flat compared to other previous updates and/or other peoples updates, but in all honesty, it's a good thing as it means less has gone wrong!

Looks great as always, loving the snow photos. I wasn't so brave and kept mine away from it lol!

I'll second that  you also get 10 points for listening to quality music on your stereo Mark :up:

Sod it, it's getting driven in all kinds of weather. Not saying it grips the best though!

Haha, can't beat a bit of the old skool. My music taste is very varied.

Did you do the engine bay yourself?

I have a powder coated inlet etc to go on my RB and want to clean up the rocker cover and maybe even spray it. How did you do yours?

Yes I did. I just degreased the engine bay, covered everything up and painted it silver. Admittedly I removed all the inlet as I wanted to check the plugs and leads.

Pics can be found here Ryan

Have noticed that my speedline decals are starting to disappear. Admittedly i was told they would eventually as these are the motorsport spec ones so it was only a matter of time. Thinking of ordering some decals of N2Grafix off eBay. I'm thinking of going medium blue like they originally was, although i have pondered about an anthracite to match the bullets.

38984030984_762b27e990_z.jpg

When the weather is better im going to give them a proper clean (de-tar, polish, wax, etc) buff all the decals out and fit new ones.

After work one night i decided to give the arches a clean. Not sure why because it was cold and raining and they would get (and indeed did get) filthy on the way home. Good old mental brain!

All done. I used some stuff called Rhino 105, which was amazing! Borrowed some off a chap at work but i will be making a purchase of some myself after using it. I sprayed it on, let it dwell then agitated it with a brush and rinsed it off. Came up lovely.

Next up was a bulb change. My interior light had blown and i wanted to get some proper cree sidelights like i had in my ph1. So i bought some off HID's Direct.

https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/501-w5w-5w-cree-canbus-led-extremely-bright-sidelight-bulbs/

I also ordered some new xenon bulbs. I opted for 6000k ones as i wanted a tint of blue to match the new cree sidelights. My current 5000k wouldn't look as good next to them.

https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/d2s-35w-premium-hid-xenon-bulb-set/

Once they arrived i set at fitting them. While it was at work i decided to paint the engine mount as it was was a tad rusty along with the retaining bolts. While the mount was out i removed the little black plastic holder that held one of the pipes to the carbon canister (Not needed as the canister has been removed last year) and gave the area a small clean up.

Ignore the D2 label. I got these thinking they was wrong as i know the standard is D2S. I gave HID's Direct a call to which they clarified they would fit and the difference between D2S and D2R is the coating on the bulb for reflection housing which i don't have being a projector. But i thought its better to ask, than assume.

Its hard to picture the brightness and colour. In these pics they look white, but they do have a tint of blue in them both. Unfortunately my camera doesn't capture it fully.

I love your updates.

I don't think we all sometimes realise how hard it is to remember to stop mid stop to take a pic etc. I often forget!

This^ hence why I have never bothered with a project thread. I have trouble remembering why the cars in bits sometimes, let alone taking a picture of it.
All the cars in project threads form you (@Dr Jekyll ) are always so clean

I need to have a meet up, I never meet up with anyone anymore down south. Where you meet up?

My arches need doing badly, will be focusing some more on the bay come better weather.

How are the engine mounts with a full interior? Mine need doing soon but was planning on standard fresh ones.

Had a full set of solid ones before but that was in my rattle box PH1. Didnt mind the harshness of them in that but in a fully furnished car I imagine it's a bit more subdued.

Cheers

Where can i get this rhino stuff from?

Anywhere mate. EBay sell it in 25 litres. I'd recommend it

Well that was at a meet at North Weald. Check the South East section mate as it's normally posted in there.

It's worth it. It's quite pleasing once it's all clean of the old crud. I shall be getting some and be doing it again, like you, when the weather gets better.

And a little paint goes a long way. Just doing the inlet and rail guard makes a big difference.

I'll be honest Chris, it's not as bad as expected. I don't find it an issue and it's been on for 2 years. Maybe because I'm used to it. It's worth it for the feel and look when you open the engine bay.

I thought you had the powerflex one on yours?

Its funny how you just arrived at work to take the pic, but the cars almost flat cold.

Hmmmmmm

I hit that mileage when I got to work and took a pic, but it was dark at 7am so I took another pic at tea break which was the one I posted.

Back at ya! :tongueclosed:

  A special one.
Good to know. Yea got a powerflex but the others feel tired now.
I had solid mounts on my ph1 mate, I thought they where great and didn't know what all of the fuss was about when people say they make the car vibrate, one of the best mods and even if the car vibrates it's worth it just to stop the engine from banging.
(I added black series dog bone bushes over the purple, that made the car vibrate) [emoji23]

It's not like your driving a Rolls Royce.

Decided that i'd have a go at some long exposure in car pics. I made a mount at work and gave it a go. Its not perfect and its unfinished but i wanted to try. I still need to have a further play and get the settings right. It also doesn't help with the bumpy roads and being on coilovers but here is my 1st couple of attempts.

Im definitely going to have another go on it, but so far its only cost me time and the studding and wing nuts as these are 1/4 UNC pitch which most cameras are unless they are the big boys ones. The metal we had at work. I have welded some wing nuts to the clamp bolts and have an angle bracket which locks in past the head rest. Ive also drilled 2 more holes either side so that it fits onto most vehicles now. My headrest spacing is sLimmer that a new clio but hopefully this is now universal as ive measure it on @Ricardos 200t EDC.

Next up was a tinker-time with @Ricardos again. Rich came to my workplace to fit some wheel studs to his EDC and give the car a check over and i wanted to check mine over too.

One thing i wanted to check was the coilovers. Removed the covers and they still look decent so the covers was definitely money well spent. It was the same both sides, but only pic of one side. The crud on the lower part is to be expected as when the car is down, the covers ride up slightly.

Then i decided to remove all my speedline decals as it was annoying me with some of them faded. Doesn't look as bad as i thought tbh. Will leave the stickers for now but ultimately i think i will add them back on.

After that we washed the cars and got a few pics.
