right i wired up my dension ipod link today

i treid following the leaflet that comes with it but i am sure thats meant to confuse you

i know there is several options with this link, 1. being the chance to operate the ipod through the steering controls and having the playlists set up etc and 2. to control it through the ipod itself

i want to set these up but am struggling to access these options on the ipod when linked up

does anybody have a clue how i access the menu when linked up?

On mine I press and hold button 6 on the h/unit to get access to the ipod through the controls on the front of the ipod itself. If I don't everything is controlled by the head unit and stalk.

well thats what i thought and what it says but it didn't seem to work. how long you have to hold it for?

also is that with music playing on it etc?

As long as you have the ipod selected as the source it will enter the access mode by pressing and holding button 6. Need to hold it for 5 -10 seconds and it should display access ipod on the ipod screen.

Not the most user friendly bit of kit in the world tbh, I tend to set up all the music I want to acess in play lists and name them 1-5 and just use the h/unit buttons to shift between them and the steering column stalk scroll wheel to skip tracks.

think thats what i may settle for now rich, set up 6 playlists last night so will check today.

got it routed lovely though, wasn't keen on drilling holes or leaving it in the glove box so looked at having it come out by the ashtray, turns out in the phase 1 it has a little orange piece in the ashtray (maybe for a light or something) but i popped that out and the link just fitted through, so now you don't even know its there when the trays closed
