Project management is the easy route of you have no automotive Experience. Saying that Bentley are massive on apprenticeships...All depends on your pay expectations.

Best thing about being an employee is the 6 monthly lease deals you can get on VAG cars. About half the price of the high street.

Haha! Just think though, a new car every 6 months!

Saying that the cars on offer are all based on your grade so you can’t just go balls out.
Dont even get a friggin car park space at my job. Unless you get in before 50% of everyone else

That’s poor! Where do you normally park?

I’m lucky, I work from home so park on my drive.

Cleaned the S2 on my lunch hour yesterday LOL.

At work but car park isn't big enough for everyone to get in.
That garage is mint, most of the ones you see now are big enough for a classic mini at best. So you have an s2, s2k and the fn2 AND a fat garage?!
What do you do?!

I think the government enforce some kind of limitation related to spaces Vs work force numbers...or may be your place doesn’t have any scope for car park expansion? Do you work in town? One thing I don’t miss is Manchester traffic.

I’ve got a new Civic, FN2 and S2000. Only the S2000 lives in the garage though. It’s big enough for two cars but that would be a squeeze (and I need somewhere to put my car cleaning kit and Honda Izy lawnmower LOL). I work in IT for a US bank mate.

Haha no, I don’t have time for any more cars.

Were you at Oulton Park on Friday? Looked like there was some kind of EP3 racing event going on?

No I wanted to book on cos all the tensport lads were on, which is probs who you saw, about 5 or 6 of em. Cars still not done yet tho and I looked mid week and was full. Booked on the 2nd March now instead.

I live a stones throw away so saw loads of EP3s as I was filling up with fuel at the local shell. I could also hear them as I was washing my car flying round the circuit. Like a bunch of angry wasps LOL.

I really like the new civic in the white black combo. @Al_G
Very smart.
Yeah, it’s nice. The 1L 3 cylinder engine is an odd one though. Fuel consumption is also nowhere near the publicised figures.

It’s a nice place to be though and the boot is even bigger than the FN2s lol.

@Al_G What do you do in IT? I work in IT too, if you have all those cars i could do with a job at your place ha. What do you think of the new shape Civic? Build quality good? Engines good? Handling etc? I quite like the MK9/10 Civics.

I'm a consultant specialising in automation software...Not massively interesting lol.

The new civic is brilliant, rides so well and very well put together. Fuel consumption on the 1L (130bhp) is poor though (around 35 vs the 55 Honda quote) and its pretty slow. The 1.5 (180bhp) is much better but then you're paying an extra 2+k for the engine. The one I bought was just shy of 23k. 23k feels like a lot of money but most cars cost 25k these days. Handling is next level, but then you'd expect it to be for the price. It rides and feels like a A5, 5 series etc of old...Nothing like the mk8 Civic. the FK8 must be epic but then you'd expect it to be for 35k and to be fair I'm not sure you'd get as much enjoyment out of it due to the size and weight.

Just a quick one...Did you have run into any issues installing the DD pioneer due to the size of the unit? I hear space is a little sparse behind.

The unit isn't the issue, it's all the friggin wires and that massive adaptor for the connects2. Does take some squeezing in and shoving bits under the cage etc. You should leave a gap at the back of the unit too so it doesn't overheat and is able to vent.

As I forgot to mention to @Rojer, but he did find out himself, was that a small 1cm square of dash needs butchering out with a hacksaw. Bottom left hand corner otherwise DD won't slide in.

Nice! What sort of automation tools you use?

I would probably go for a 1.6 diesel due to miles if i was getting a newer shape, but i would be tempted by the new Focus if im honest. Looks very nice!

Regarding the wiring, it was simple after i figured it out ha. What i did was un-clipped the grey OEM wiring loom off the frame if that makes sense. I didn't bother putting the cables behind the stereo as its too much. I just pulled them all down (so where the pocket would be) and then plugged in what i needed to the stereo and pushed it in. Then i tucked the wires up best i could, you actually have quite a bit of space and it went back together easy. Just dont try and tuck it behind the stereo initially. Put the stereo in with whatever cables you need connected then tuck it after.

Great advice. Did you also have to cut 1cm of dash? I presume that's inside/behind the dash rather than the front, visible part?

Midrange automation software such as IBM TWS and CA WAAE.

I did have to cut the dash padding yes, but not trim clips into that part etc so its all good.

When you were cutting was it a s**t your pants moment or would you have to be pretty simple to f**k it up?
Its very simple, when you try and slide it all in you will notice the bottom left of the cage hitting the padding and then get a stanley blade and just cut what you need to. Its very easy and you will spot it.

Just been to collect car. Done a mint job of fitting the camera! Can't see it at all unless you look and the picture is brilliant. Hope it's good in the dark too.
