Damn that's some bad luck. I've had a couple of close calls with wildlife while driving over the years. Just imagine the damage an obese person would do😲. Glad your OK mate👍.

@cs_rich You don't fancy repairing or breaking?

Tried a MK2 RS?

I really like the MK2 RS, but by god the interior is awful. The seats are nice, but the dash etc feels like it's from the 90s. It's aged so badly in my view. It wouldn't bother me if it was a track hack but, for a daily, I think it would do my head in.

What about the i30N ?

I drove one of those a few months ago, lovely cars.

That's why i didn't get one when i was looking before the S3. Everything else about it is fine, just that interior is a shocker. Currently thinking MK6 GTI or R tbh. Golf is just one of those do it all cars as they say.

Given how little driving I do nowadays, and how much work needs doing on the house, I can't really justify spending too much on a replacement so I'm thinking of a hard limit of £10k.

Much as I love the look of the i30N, they're coming in at nearly twice that, same with the Focus RS (and having had a Mk2 ST previously, I think it'd be too similar).

Changing the satnav boot screen is something I think you can do in the menus on the satnav itself. If you take the SD card out (you have to use the 'Remove SD Card' in the menus IIRC) you can put it in a PC and there's a folder somewhere reasonably obvious that you can put new photos into.

Would be mega money for the insurer to repair it. Bonnet, wing bumper, headlight. Slam panel looks damaged, door will be damaged, plus all the odd bits like the arch extension, DRL etc etc. You could be in for a fair bill doing it yourself too.

I'd chalk it up and move on personally.

No one has suggested a Mazda MPS yet lol

Loved that Megane, such a shame. The fiesta though..oh well. At least you’ve got some money in the bank I suppose!

let us know your thoughts and plans!

Not much at the minute, just some OEM+ type stuff ; mats, update SYNC, bit of security with the OBD fuse and RFID key pouch etc.

Probably looking to get MP215 on in the next couple of months too but figured I should probably drive it for a bit first.

Did the megane go then, you didn’t fancy buying it and breaking it for parts?

Nah, I'm busy enough as it is (not that you'd know it from my posting history) so happy to draw a line under it and move on.

Good choice!

What is it, ST2, ST3? Options? Age and mileage?

Looks to be standard?

ST3 so everything included as standard I think, though it does have rear parking sensors. It's a '65 plate so I think it has the revised suspension from the ST200 along with the rear LED lights. 45k miles and it seems to be in great condition.
