So after many hours and many different types of side mounts my seat is finally in. Needs final tightening but it’s in and out the way. Was a lot of messing about as was working around welded in seat rails suited to a different seat and my side mounts.

Now that’s in I can work out where the bias valve will sit and run the brake hoses.

Getting seat position right is one of the most difficult tasks on a race car. This looks good though. Is it fairly central to the steering wheel where you have it?
Yeah your right. I’ve spent an hour every morning last week messing with the position. It’s fairly central yeah, loads better than the seating position in my old blue cup shell with standard rails and seat subframes.

If I was to weld my own rails in I’d probably do them a tad lower tho but we’ll see how it goes.

Started to look at where the brake lines will run inside the car today.

It seems the lines before and after the brake bias valve are to long. Well at least one of them is to get them to run neatly. This might just be me being a bit OCD but running how I’d like the T piece is in the spare wheel well ??‍♂

This is what I come up with but I’m not happy tbh.

Position-wise that's pretty much exactly the same as mine. Except I had the kit with no bulkhead connectors, so I just had the lines running through grommets which gave them a bit more adjustment.

(not a very good photo I'm afraid)

It was your set up I was copying tbf as I knew you had the grommet kit I presumed it would be a bit longer.

I possibly gunna have to drill a hole in the bulk head to pass the 90 degree connector through and make a L shape bracket riveted to the bulk head, with a hole in to tighten the bulk head connector together. If that make sense, as I have quite a bit of lenght to hide lol

I would personally just make up new lines and have it exactly to length for efficiency. You might notice a slight difference in the pedal if the inside was hardline and to length rather than braided. I had a full braided setup and switched to 3/4 hardline and found things a bit more consistent on the pedal.

I’ve driven the same clio cup with hard lines and then with braided, and both were fine to me tbh, all personal preference.

I only went this way for easy and time saving which isn’t currently working lol.

I positioned all my lines how I wanted, then had the one from the bias valve to the rear T piece shortened to suit.
Luckily I have a HEL hose supplier close to me who could change it though.
Mitch offered to alter it free of charge. It's just a pain having to wait on postage etc, but my OCD wouldn;t let me leave it

I really don't know how there are so many different variations of this hose kit.
First set gets made on a car to fit perfectly, then all dimensions go into a hose register along with fitting orientation.
I'm not sure any got made on a car originally. Then there the M10/M12 master cylinder differences. And the bias valve differences (mine is American so is ideally made to be the wrong way round.
But it should certainly be a lot easier than it is. If I knew now, I'd have got my local supplier to come make them on the car. Much the same price and would have been perfect. Colours are an issue though

I wondered why my bias valve was back to front ??‍♂ My ocd is telling me order another one.

Do you have 90deg fittings going into it or straight?
If you've got the 90deg fittings, you can fit it the right way round. Also takes up a bit of slack in the lines

Decided I’m going to start from the rear of the car to fit these brake lines.

Finally got some new bolts for the rear calipers to stub axle.

Whilst it was too late I decide to get the drivers front hose to fitted with out rubbing and cut a little piece of metal out.

Need to drill through the rear arches next.

Rear lines are done, I may have drilled the hole through the wheel arch 10/20mm to high which may effect the lines inside to the T piece.
Maybe be an issue but I’ll cross that bridge later.

Nearly there with routing.

Defo going to redrillthe holes lower and hope the hoses will sit better as they currently float of the floor ?

I also sorted my bulk head hose as I got pretty bored.

So the lines are in and just need pining down now.

Redrilled the rear arches in the end. As per my earlier post I ordered a new hose from Hel, order Friday PM arrived today and is spot on. Great service.

Whilst ordering the hose I figured out what Proline had done to my bulk head fixings. They had put the female part on the inside hose instead of the engine bay hose, so this would of meant sending 2 back etc. So for the sake of 25 quid I just ordered the hose from Hel.

I also order a male to male bulk head M10x1.0 adaptor which has worked perfect.

Now all that’s left to do is fit the front hose to the calipers lines. Drill holes for the p clips, paint all the holes and then fit and forget, finially.

All the brake lines are ran and tightened to the calipers bar the passenger front. Need to join the caliper line to master line and then p clip them all down. Oh and make a bracket for the bias valve.

Master cylinder is all in now tho.

Master cylinder hoses are p clipped down now.
The passenger front hose was bit of a nightmare with the straight fitting out the master not to mention being about a foot too long. To get it tidy, Miss the routing of the clutch cable and go behind the heat shielding took some patience.

Looking good now. At least your rear lines from arch to calliper have two 90 degree fittings. Mine came with two straight fittings ?

Spent a few hours in the garage.
Pushed the storm out side and tidied up a bit first.

Then move on to fitting the cams and timing the engine, the fact the Renault locking tool doesn’t fit the cat cams is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever come across ?

Few last bits to add to it and it’s ready to drop in the whole.

Few pics

Looks great so far! What are you doing about wiring?

Also how heavy are the pure engine and gearbox mounts compared to OEM? I’m assuming they are steel?
