I damaged my sump the other day and looking to change it over the next week. Whilst it is off is there any point changing the oil pump whilst I am there? I don't hear about anyone having problems with oil pumps but just putting the feelers out.

My cars due a service so I need to order my 5w40 oil. The elf stuff is £28 but opie have gulf formula g or fuchs supersyn for £19/£24 , both are fully synthetic.

I know this is a silly question but I just want to make sure - the passengers driveshaft is now attached with 3 bolts so sealed. Drivers shaft is off for another few hours until a part arrives. No oil will leak out of the box with the drivers drive shaft off no ? /noob
