You can tell what power a car has by seeing someone pull away in first gear?:-)
Next time you see me give me a shout i'll take you out for a quick blast if you like you can make your mind up after that.
It's always been an ambition of mine to do it. A lot of the fun in having the car was doing the conversion itself. Having owned my car since new it makes no sense for me to sell it and get back next to nothing and at the time it had a major wiring fault. Would I do it again no but would never...
Why does it have to be one or the other? I don't want the kit as then it's just any other 182/172 and lets be honest they are not all that special in the grand scheme of things. The 2.0 bullets well they are black with only the lettering highlighted so until you get up close not a huge giveaway...
Ok but then the 182 that is going to embarass when it hits 5000rpm is going to have the same power minus the mods so if that's the best comeback you have i'm disapointed!
It's the full conversion stripped my car down to a bare so there a very few bits left from the 1.2 if any at all. It is...
Haha seriously if I was going to lie it'd be about something better than having a 2.0
To be totally honest going by your spotted post if I was going into Edinburgh it'd have more than likely to drop my Mum off for her night out in which case my hands are a bit tied! However if you do see me...
That will be mine. Exhaust is a standard one an sat wonky cause the Renault mounts are pish and kept failing! Anyway it's a 1.2 with a 2.0 and a few other things ;-)
The 30amp inline fuse on the power cable for my amp keeps blowing. Basically it's a 600watt amp with what I think is a 300watt sub. Each channel on the amp only provides 100 odd amps so have wired it up to two channels. Is this ok? There isn't a lot of bass from the sub so wondering where I have...
You said it yourself mate easy to understand with them infront if you though sounds like your getting quite excited as I would be too lol. I just used to spin them to where I wanted then turn them opposite directions to lock. Not sure what you mean about the preloading though the tension on the...
Hard to say exactly what it is my connector don't clip on very easily though still work fine. If you push it in and let go and it works just need to sort the connector from coming back off. If you have to hold it in something isn't right. Could even be one of the pins that connector goes onto on...
Appreciate that cheers. My old 1.2 had the tracking miles off and it was ok nothing as bad as this though suppose it's a different set up. Will try tracking and cross my fingers.
Thanks for the reply mate. I am thinking it's maybe just some racks that have them as my one didn't though makes me wonder why.
Everything seems ok and it's all passed the MOT but I am going to have to change these bit by bit thinking of starting with the balljoints and track rods.The...
Do all 172's have these? If anybody has a picture of the set up would be great. My steering is very twitchy the tracking needs done for sure though I keep reading about these steering rack bushes on here. When I had the subframe off I had the rack off aswell and there were no bushes on this?
Thanks for the info Tom. If the light does come back on I will be changing the switch first before I get it plugged in. I did adjust the switch and it appears to be working well but it does seem to be a common problem.
Through reading all the threads about the abs light last night it seems to most common fault if the esp light is also on is the brake pedal sensor needing adjusted.
How much fuel is in it? I've only ever had this happen once when it was seriously empty. Have you tried holding the button on the end of the wiper stalk while turning on the ignition then press the trip computer button. Not sure if it will reset it but would be the first thing I try.
Thanks anyway mate. Today the light went of and when I was testing it I was braking from motorway cruising speed and the light came back on. Have spent the day checking everything out and couldn't find anything.
I came across a few threads while searching about the steering position sensor...
Have done a search and seems a common problem my ABS light is constantly on now. Have just installed a new wiring loom the other day and first time I have drove the car since I bought it. When I started it the light stayed on then when I drove away the light went off when it picked up some...
