I've had a few attempts at this over the last month. Best time was 2:02.976 (211th on the leaderboards). I think I could get under 2 minutes with a bit more practice but it's a bit of an animal. As well as crashing many many times and losing lots of wheels, I also managed to blow the engine on...
Not local but have a look at CSF:

I've been twice before (2015 and 2016) and it's a good weekend. People are friendly and it's quite easy to get chatting to people. Take a tent, a camping chair and some liquid refreshment!
There was a thread last year...
I'd replace the squib next then. Might be able to find a second hand one on here/eBay? You might need a cup specific one as non-cup ph2 172s have ESP (and a steering angle sensor). Maybe someone else will know for sure.
While you're replacing the squib you could fit a ph1 indicator stalk which...
I'd look out for a set of 15s. If you buy the right set you won't lose anything on them when you sell them on so you'll only be paying for the tyres. Same is true of your 16s of course but the tyres will cost more.
I wouldn't recommend putting R888Rs on straight away if you're new to track...

Just had a few laps in the 98T - only managed a 2:09 so far! The quickest time is a 1:45(!) but I think getting under 2 minutes will need balls of steel. Maybe cranking the downforce up as well as the boost will work. I think gearing tweaks will be difficult too - too short ratios and you'll be...
Time trials have been a bit quiet recently. As it's the Belgian GP later this month I thought about doing a Spa special time trial.
For the car I was thinking the Lotus 98T. Yes it's bonkers, but if you turn the boost down and let the tyres warm up it's quite driveable! Then once you're used to...
Haven't been spending much time on PC lately but I'll try and remember to have a go at this next time I fire it up.
How about Spa next month in the Lotus 98T?!
It's that time of the month already (fnarr). Last month @HarvB set the quickest time, but as he chose the car/track combo the choice for June falls to 2nd place - @JB21.
Guidelines:
1. At the start of each month a track and car are chosen by the driver with the fastest time from the previous...
Yes but this is a forum of car enthusiasts like me who know that when looking at cars 10-15 years old there are many other factors than mileage that are important.
My 172 was on 123k when I sold it and was in better condition than most others at that price, regardless of mileage.
Phew, this one's tricky!
I'm at 1:13.580 at the moment (on PC leaderboards). Usual G29 with no assists except ABS I think. Got room for improvement - though not sure where another 4 seconds might come from!
I've done a few setup tweaks so far - reduced front tyre pressures, reduced rear...
Well done to @mantis946 who set the fastest time last month. Please post your car & track choice below!

You can also use that. It's slightly cheaper than the long life oil and is 5W-40 instead of 5W-30. The longlife oil is intended for variable service intervals and the platinum is intended for fixed intervals (10k/1 year?). I'd go for the long life even on fixed intervals unless you really want...
I believe it's 504.00/507.00 5W-30 spec oil you need and 5l should be enough.
The Quantum long life oil on eBay is pretty cheap - about £20 for 5l.
As for filters I've used mostly Mann filters on my Octavia for the last 90k miles. I change the oil/filter every 10k and the old barge is still on...
Saw a few Clios (and a Megane or 2) at Silverstone on Sunday:
Black 182
Silver 172 with blue wheels
Blue 172 cup (owned by Ben from PH)
Red 200
Blue 200 (Megane engine converted I think)
Grey Megane 250 (I think!)
Anyone from here? Was a good morning despite the weather early on. Didn't go on...
My best time so far is 48.094. Should be able to get into the 47s!
Quick video of a 48.300 with some 'moments' before the start of the lap and after the end!
12 entries last month - pretty good!
@Pearcy was fastest again, well done! However as he chose this car/track combo, the choice for next month goes to the next fastest which was @James H - please post up your car and track choice.:stig:
What tyres were you using? Can you post up some pics of where they have rubbed? My car is on Eibach pro-kit springs and cup shocks and I've not really had any issues with 195/50/15 tyres. The 195/45/16s on the standard wheels are fine too but I haven't used those on track.
Maybe the arch liners...
