I had a Sportex system on my 172 when I first bought her, good system, sounded great, nice deep tone, only reason I changed it was the back box went as made of mild steel, don’t think they have a long shelf life so bought a super sport ktec, but for the money sportex a good system
I have 2 jacks,an aluminum motamec 2.5 ton racing jack which is just awesome, lifting so easy and release is so smooth and a sgs low entry 2.5 ton which is twice as heavy,ok at lifting but release is not good, comes down way too fast but hey I guess you get what you pay for
I'd recommend that you get a phase 1 indicator stalk, has horn button, will stop the horn from shorting again, which is highly likely on aftermarket wheel.
Hi guys, bit of a problem if anyone can help, fitted new koni shocks alround with my existing eibach springs at the weekend, which also included new kingsnorth solid top mounts, everything went well fitted ok and drove great, but as I got in my 172 to go to work today noticed when I turn my steering...
Could be the air temp sensor on the top inlet manifold, changed mine as felt like it was just holding back some,it cured the problem and only cost a tenner, thx
Buy some solid top mounts, just fitted them to my 172,got them from kings north engineering, well made, easy to fit and car handles like a dream,my old mounts sat high by a few MM,as I took the top hat off the mount and bearings were well knackered, moving all over the place,so solid mounts a good...

Hey I'm 45 and love driving my 172,doesn't matter what age you are,i just wouldn't enjoy driving say a 1.5 diesel now plus it's better when you get older as your insurance is a lot cheaper, yippeeee. Lol! Thanks
Keep em on there great when it's pissin down and u can open the windows a bit to stop ure fookin car misting up,I got mine from micks garage, there wider then hekos and more flexible to fit,I thought hekos were pretty poor, the clips were shite so always adj so you could put windows up.
My 172 was mapped by Austen at chip and tune, nice guy,250 it cost and a great job he did too,the map runs better than me old clio I had mapped at superchips peterborough, stills pulls doing 20mph in 5th, cheers AustenAusten
Induction kits are in my opinion overated, sound good but performance wise not as good as stock with panel filter,I had a bmc cda which for the money spent was very disappointing, lacked low end torque and seemed to take ages before power kicked in,waste of money, and a pipercross pk cone which was...
cheers mate had a lot of work done on the old faithful since them pics, koni adj shocks with 30mm eibach springs plus remap by austen from whittlesey, this baby really flys and handles like its on rails, great fun to drive and suprises a few cars lol
