Some lad had the same prob and posted a seq on another forum.
Disconect the battery for 10 mins to reset Ecu.
Once reconnected, turn the ignition on for aprox 5 seconds.
Turn the ignition off for aprox 8 seconds.
Turn the ignition back on, start the car and road test so Ecu can remember...
Sorted it now as I couldn't rest and it was doing my head in.
Read on another post that it can forget the throttle position and there is a sequence to reset it. Did it, took it for a drive, all sorted. Engine management light still on but wondering if that's to do with the decat fitted last...
Yeah I've whipped it off since to double check it and it's spot on. No nothing mate, that's what's puzzling me. Never have any luck with the dam thing.
Hi all, had my throttle body off today to give it a good clean out., however since putting it back on I've got my engine management light on and it idles between 1300-2800!! Makes me look like a right nob when stopping at lights/junctions.
Not sure what the prob is, seems like an air leak but...
Surely when you have things done on your car, you always look for a bargain, unless your shitting pound coins....and no not near there, from mansfield as said
6-700 quid!! I've got a mechanic who'll be pulling the box off for me, that ain't a days work surely?
also it's not really the piece of string question, just based on ur experience mate is all I wanted.
.cheers for the replies anyway, I'll get on the phone soon
Hi Guys,
Basically my gearbox is knackered, so wanted abit of advice.
I've seen a few posts on people saying to send it to a company to recondition it, but to be fair I need my car and wouldnt be able to wait for it to come back.
Does anybody know how much these companies charge to recon...
yeah it could be, it sounds more like its coming from the passenger wheel though which makes me think driveshaft. Its going to the garage tomorrow for a check anyway so will let you know the outcome
Pretty much as above..more noticeable in 1st and 2nd, once it gets to about 4500rpm and above it kind of sounds like my wheel is about to fall off, or the fact that something is spinning faster then what my wheel is.
I'm guessing driveshaft but wondered if anybody's experienced the same issue...
Had my plugs changed on the 182 and in the process my map sensor got damaged.
Not many scrappys round me tend to have the sports in so does anybody know if i can use one off a different model clio, i.e 1.2 16v etc.
Any help much appreciated as the car is running like crap!
i'm also after a map sensor mate. Mine broke off whilst the plugs were being changed. Seen this on ebay..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Sport-Clio-172-182-MAP-MAF-Sensor-/270671668250?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f0549e41a#ht_2700wt_1139
Anyone got any views on these?
Right, well I'll still be running my cat......but its the pipe that comes out the other end that we cut off i.e I have no clamp/joint . Dont suppose you know how I could fit it do you? Was thinking of taking the cat off and getting my mate to weld me a piece back in, but with the flare so I can...
Looking at upgrading my exhaust, would like peoples oppinions on some systems, noise when driving steady, noise when giving it some beans, build quality etc.
Been looking at the RS192 system, also the Janspeed catback system. I'll be going for cat back as dont want too much noise, but some...
will do mate, not worth buying twice.
Regarding the exhaust system folks, i was interested in the scorpion rs192 system....will i have problems fitting this due to the state of my current system?
right ok i'll go renault for the kit then, cheers fred.
I think i get you Wick lol. Basically the section from the cat, that then goes to the clamp, and then into the middle box, all I have there is a straight piece of pipe from the cat, straight into the box.
And i'm in the mansfield mate, if...
Hi all,
looking at upgrading my exhaust system from the standard blowing one, just got a couple of questions.
My standard one snapped between the cat and the middle box, so my friend and his grinder cut that section out and replaced it with a straight bit of pipe......i'm looking at replacing...
