They arnt that much heavier than a clio really, maybe 50-75kgs more. 220 would butcher a clio in a straight line, clio would butcher 220 round corners haha you really do have to wrestle them round corners.
ive been without a clio for a couple of years, i was driving one of the sensible eco barges (mondeo) and now back in another 172. had a blast over to a friend of mines house, 14 miles each way, 3/4 of that is country roads and i was as happy as a 6 year old on xmas morning and grinning like a...
cheers :D
haha thanks. I love it! Most people have a 2nd glance and wonder why its different from a standard one. have to get them side by side to really notice all the differences lol
yeah i wondered if it had had a smash and had a ph1 front end on it or something. i was sure all ph1's were...
Hi guys and girls, this is my new 172. Only got it today so not done much driving yet. This was my situation the last time i was on here;

and now this...
78k, 1 prev owner... BUT it has had a new engine apparently as...
Well, its not like i was poster of the year before but anyway, im back in another Clio. Moved near enough on works doorstep so no long commute anymore which means i can get something a bit more fun/unreliable/thirsty etc. Picked up a Ph1 172 today, quite a change from a diesel Mondeo i was...
if it was doing that constantly then he must have been running too much boost or it was simply a nail or a shite conversion. Standard pistons are made of chocolate and generally cant take more than 11.5psi.
to get 235bhp he must have had good induction, full exhaust with a bigger downpipe and...
cheers will check that out!
there the best ones i have at the moment, its in really good condition for its age.
not going to be modding it mate, its simply my daily runner. i have the 220 for my modification habbit lol
124k but it does have FSH. bit of a bargain really. I will give you a warning though, for your sake get one without a sunroof as they leak like a b*****d when it rains.
Well, had to get rid of the 172 a while ago due to insurance and fuel rocketing up. Didnt own it for that long but i thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, mightily impressed and has lifted my previous gloomy experience with anything French. Just lacking in straightline power though.
Still with...
servicing costs are reasonable apart from the belts that people have mentioned but thats only every so often... tax is a fortune at £245... insurance, you might as well bend over and get lubed up... economy is decent for the engine, i usually see about 31mpg in daily running but anything up to...
id like to see a lot more cars for a start. it might be copying but some sort of second hand market similar to GT5's would be good.
imo these are the only areas where GT5 is better, everything else forza walks out in front.
Im kind of in the same boat at the minute and considering my options
i did think of the clio and maybe a 306 like you but have you considered a VW lupo diesel?
All insurance companies are a set of c***s tbh.
Money robbing idiots.
I moved from AF to Sky in the hope that things would improve but nope, still as bad.
i only take notice of the RS clio's because ive found them to be pretty rare tbh. Normal Clio's are a everywhere but in the 6 months ive owned mine i think ive only seen about 3 other RS172/182 clio's.
tbh as long as rod doesnt fly through the block then i just put it down to 'being french' lol
As long as its fine when its warm then dont worry about it. IMO anyway.
But dont listen to me i guess, im not all that technically minded lol
had experience with both.
Found Spax better than Apex. My 172 is on Apex at the minute and its very 'bobbly' and crashy.
pay the extra and get Eibach's imo
yeah thats kinda how id feel. speedo in the middle wtf? just need to glance at it not take you eyes completely off the road.
apparently if you have the one with satnav, thats in the middle and the speedo is in the normal place. i could live with that i think. but then again, for the money id...
