I had a similar problem with my track wheels where the offset meant the tyre rubbed the spring in the rear coilover.
I fitted 10mm axle spacers and I would recommend using these over hub spacers especially if using the car on track
Yeah rain was my biggest concern, if I'm locking in the dry then I've got no chance in the wet.
I'll take the o.e brembo and swap if it gets to wet I guess.
I tried it on my road and track tyres and it was the same on both (yoko s drive + soft ns2r) the brake fluid was done about a year ago and is ate supergold.
Discs are new Brembo hc.
Car is a 172 cup
Hi Guys
Just fitted my rc5+ for a track day next weekend, when I took the car out for a drive my first reaction was wow these things grab really well, awesome retardation with little pedal pressure.
Then I tried a few harder stops (still only moderate pedal pressure) and the n/s front wheel...
You make a good point and it is somthing I have been considering, I don't drive fast enough on the road to need the extra stopping power (as you said if you are then you shouldn't be) however I don't do a lot of road miles maybe 2-3000 a year so I shouldn't really burn through them on the road...
Ok so my Ds2500 are dead (see other thread) I was going to replace with another set of ds2500 but having seen the state of these I'm not so sure, I'm tempted by the RC5+ seems to be about the same price but from what ive read possibly a bit noisier and a bit more harmfull to wheels/paint than...
I had the same sort of misfire on my cup which also had ecp leads fitted, when I removed them from the plugs the end of the leads were totally rusty, the leads had obviously letting water past them and down into the plug wells. I replaced them with a used set of genuine Renault leads and it's...
Cheers for the info guys.
I was wondering what the difference between the cup and the normal models was and an lsd will be pretty vital as you say so I'll mention that to him
Hi all
Just doing a bit of research for a friend who is looking for a new track car.
He has sold his evo 8 fq340 which has done many years of track service and is looking for somthing different he loves turbo cars and wants a change from jap 4x4 so the megane fits the bill.
What are the things...
I've got the ktec super quiet stealth on mine and I'm very happy with it.
standard noise level good fit and lifetime guarantee all you could ask for from an exhaust tbh
Hi Tom
I am the current owner of HT53RBZ I bought the car from a chap called Wayne from Birmingham who replaced it with a Dc5 integra type R and like yourself regretted selling the car and tried to buy it back off me.
I'm not sure how many owners it has had now (I'll check the v5 when I get...
I remember reading some advice being given to a guy wanting to put a gti engine into a mk2 golf "Never build a car you can buy".
With good 172s costing 1-2k why would you go to the effort of converting a normal Clio into a sport.
Good luck anyway if you carry on with it
I've got trophy seats in my cup when this light came on on my car it was the plug connected to the seatbelt pretensioner was loose, just take off the leather covers that are velcroed around the seatbelt lock and you should see them connected to the back of the pretensioner just try removing and...
I hardly think a 170bhp hot hatch that can achieve an easy 35mpg in mixed driving can be described as "drinking the most fuel in the shortest distance"
Yep mine was the same I would really notice it if I was braking lightly coming up to traffic lights it would be knocking in time with road speed but as I said I removed and unstuck the caliper on the side affected and it has been fine ever since.
Is yours a 172 cup? Mine is and I always thought...
