How high temperatures can rear disc bearing and ABS ring withstand?

Ah I see, thanks. The problem with the paint is that although its dried its still very soft and easily marked just by lightly catching with a fingernail. It sems like it needs to be cured/baked/heat-treated to harden it up a bit. I was hoping that say 30 mins at say 80c would harden the paint...

How high temperatures can rear disc bearing and ABS ring withstand?

Thanks Philip, 80c is pretty hot and I would hope would bake the paint. Does it matter how long I 'cook' them for or is that irrelevant? 30 mins??

How high temperatures can rear disc bearing and ABS ring withstand?

Great thanks Philip, so what in your opinion would be a perfectly safe temperate to use and for how long? Its just to cure/bake the paint....

Any thoughts on this before I ruin my ABS ring? Thanks

    200/220 centre-silencer removal?

I fitted the Zorstworx ebay silencer delete pipe at t'weekend, fairly easy to fit, just involved one cut in the old silencer pipe 2.5" behind the box itself. The front of the new pipe has an identical flange to the standard pipe which joins (uses original v-clamp) to the downpipe and then the...

    200/220 brake nut/bolt torques

I spoke with Renault in the end and good job I did because the rear disc-hub nut needs to be tightened to 220NM (not 175NM!) The calliper-carrier bolts F&R are 80NM And the caliper-caliper bolts F&R are 20-25NM (no definitive setting) Plus wheels 130NM

How high temperatures can rear disc bearing and ABS ring withstand?

Agreed, although they must be able to withstand a certain amount of heat – just how much and for who long? We’ve all seen discs glowing red-hot therefore the bearing must be able to withstand a certain amount of heat… The ABS ring is definitely plastic or hard rubber, with as far as I...

How high temperatures can rear disc bearing and ABS ring withstand?

I’m fitting new discs & pads all round and have sprayed the ‘bell’ part of the rear discs with high-temperature paint (the fronts are already painted/coated). Its recommended to heat treat the paint once applied therefore ordinarily I would stick the disc in the oven for say 30 mins at 200c...

    200/220 centre-silencer removal?

I just typed into Google "220 trophy center silencer removal" and it brought up this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Clio-RS220-Trophy-Centre-resonator-mid-silencer-delete-pipe-deres-pipe-/323437401368

    200/220 centre-silencer removal?

Thanks mate. I’ve since come across a ready-made kit on eBay, so rather than going to an exhaust garage I could just do it myself. It’s only a piece of flanged stainless steel pipe & clamps so won’t be any different than taking it somewhere. I could do with finding out though what sound...

    200/220 centre-silencer removal?

The underside of my facelift 220 is completely covered but as far as I am aware it has a centre-silencer as well as the rears. One thing I’ve done on previous cars where I haven’t wanted to do a new full exhaust change, and also risk changing the type of sound, but just wanted to make it a tad...

    Replacement 220 tyres or/and wheels.

Yes good point! They already look to be stretched on the 7.5J rim and as mentioned from what I found on t’net a 7.5J rim should ideally have a 215 or 225 tyre. My 220 is just a weekend fun car so therefore do minimal miles in it, I love the PSS so would want something equally sticky, now I...

    Replacement 220 tyres or/and wheels.

Thanks all. Do we mean 225/40/18 and keep my standard 7.5J rims? If so this looks to only through the speedo out a tad: Reading at 30mph = 29.25mph Reading at 60mph = 58.49mph Which is negligible and best it’s over–reading rather than the other way around! I quite like my standard wheels...

    200/220 brake nut/bolt torques

I am soon replacing the discs & pads F&R on my 220 and can’t find anything as to what all the torque settings should be. As far as I am aware: Fronts: Calliper bolts Disc to hub bolts Rear: Calliper bolts Disc to axle bolt Are there any others I've missed and does anyone know what all...

    Brake bleeding

I may as well push some new fluid through the whole system (ignoring the ABS pump) therefore how much fluid do the Clios hold roughly, i.e. how many 500ml bottles will I need? Was going to use some RBF600. Thanks

    220 Tuning

Thanks, that’s really helpful. I’m only relaying what Engine Dynamics told me, they’ve no reason to lie about the 220’s apparently making less than quoted but that’s what apparently they’ve seen. ED use an Airtec IC, which from what I’ve seen directs air back into the radiator. Yes I have the...

    Brake bleeding

Thanks, just did a bit of research and mixing brands is fine as is DOT 5.1 with 4 or 3, just not DOT 5 with anything else. I will buy a couple of bottles of DOT 4 then and push ½ a bottle through with each corner. (The car is only 12 months/2,300 miles old but I’m replacing the discs because...

    Brake bleeding

Thanks. I’ve just read the instructions for the Eezibleeder and it looks eezy (!!) enough to do so I think I’ll give it a go. Is it ok to mix makes of brake fluid? From what I can see on t’net I think the car has DOT 4 as standard, presumably I don’t need especially to get some new fluid from...

    Brake bleeding

Thanks all Ah, so the vacuum bleeders need a compressor. I wondered if there was a hand pump version. When you say the 2 man method – do you mean the ‘old fashioned peddle-pump way’ or 2 man also somehow using the bleeder? The amount of fluid needed to fill one hose must be miniscule...
