Hadn't realised how long it has been since I updated this, thanks for the interest!
Its been great and still going well, have kept working on it and have changed a few things.
Just got it back on the road after being in the yard for some changes, Ill post some photo updates later this week!
Up to around 1300 miles in it now, need to get the mapping lined up already!
Sorry no decent videos yet, going on a road trip next month which should provide some good opportunity,
Some pics from a couple weeks ago,
Its been faultless except it now has a very slight oil leak that leaves a...
Thanks bud!
Yeah was thinking if I ever want to go much further than this ill drop in an LEH in while im at it and gain the jets then, probably still keep the F23 though, not sure the M32 6 speed will fit without getting into the chassis leg and would create a lot of rework of the shifter and...
Thanks a lot man,
Nothing too crazy but lot of measuring required!
Needed all new driver side, gearbox and dogbone mounts, and a new front torque reaction mount on the subframe as it runs this in the Astra, quite similar to whats required for the 225 conversion. Took a while to find the right...
Hah yeah had expected this question at some point! To be honest there wasn't much more logic to it than looking at my mates Corsa LET and thinking I wanted that in a Clio Sport...
There were times when I did look at it and think I should of just turbo'ed it deffinately! This created a lot more...
I debated over this for quite a while, did quite a few MS paint mock ups! Final logic was I can start silver and paint it later if I wanted to. When it was mounted up I was quite pleased with it as it keeps the front end bright and balanced IMO. Was thinking that it probably wouldn't be long...
Thanks man,
Yeah Im really pleased with the clocks, took a little bit of cutting of the dash and bracketry to get the fit right as they are like twice the depth of the standard clocks,
Funny thing I hadn't realized is that the clio indicator click comes from a speaker on the back of the clocks...
Thanks guys,
Shes not mapped yet as have only had it on the road for 3 weeks or so running it in, but approx 220,
Engine as built capable of a bit over 300 but project target is 280.
Goes and sounds fantastic though, very pleased.
Hi all,
Finally got round to sorting out pictures from my project car, here to share them if anyone is interested.
A mate had a Z20LET converted Corsa C which I got involved with, and another had a 182, one thing led to another and here we are.
Rebuilt the Vauxhall Z20LET engine from an Astra...
The sub needs to be mounted in a sealed enclosure really man as opposed to 'hanging' from a panel into the spare wheel well. It will sound gash and quiet if it is operating in free air, unless it was specifically designed to do so. See what size box you can sink into the spare wheel well if...
Are you confident the battery voltage is good enough to crank? any chance its gone flat?
On the Mk2 Ph1s it was a rubber capped push button looking thing, right near the ECU cage by the battery from memory, sorry I couldnt help you with a MK1
Im not sure if MK 1s had an inertia switch? that would kill fuel and electrics, just a push to reset if one is fitted, should be quite obvious like it is on Mk2 Ph1's,
Do you get dash lights etc when you turn ignition on or is everything dead?
Sorry to shed bad light on this but I had what I would call a quiet 'Chirp', especially audible when down by the drivers wheel arch or when driving next to walls etc, at that was the Aux Belt Tensioners bearing
This really should be replaced with the kit,
Pete
naah! what a shitter! just where you thought it would go if it did as well!
Might wanna ask some questions on this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CLIO-SPORT-172-182-ALTERNATOR-/330533474971?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf554929b#ht_500wt_1156
Otherwise perhaps see if you can find one...
Hiiiiii
Your aux belt is definitely intact, and wiring at the alternator seems good,
Strange about the battery annunicator on the dash not showing on ignition, what other lights are out out of interest? Did any of these show ( on test stage) before this problem came up? As you would expect...
The mothers Land Rover Defender 90 300 TDI has always taken ridiculous time to reach operating temperature since they got it, and even on some quite long journeys wouldnt even get there on a cold day. Obviously this isnt good for the engine especially with the heater set to permanent hot to...
hmm no if youve got no interior functions then it wont be the immobiliser, but you say you have external lights and dash lights?
There are a few UCH fuses in the fuse panel, youve probably found those by now, strange one this
Sorry chap slight error of memory this is what i did,
Remove the plate attached to the holder
Thats this bit
Then pass the wires through that so you can clamp the bulb in like below, I had to cut off the grommet, but cut it neatly and you can use it with a bit of heatshrink to tidy it...
on my PH2 you can remove the plate that the holder quarter turns into, 2 torx head screws IIRC, and you can clamp the bulb sweetly under that, remove the wires from the holder connect them to the ballast as per diagrams, keep hold of the holder though in case you want to return them back to...
Actually there was a trick that sorted mine when I was having UCH/Immobiliser issues that caused the car to light up as normal but just a click when you tried to crank was if you put the ignition on and remove the lower UCH fuse, you should here a relay click, put it back in then ignition off...
Apologies I dont mean to be patronising but i presume the battery voltage has been checked? Try having a meter across it then attempting to crank it and see if there is any drop. Could poss be a UCH / immobiliser jobby if youve got the light blinking away like a bellend, try disconnecting the...
:approve: True this
Claiming its 'Unique' is normally the result of a hard to reverse mod that you thought would be great and turned out swag, or was always going to be swag and thought it would be alright
However of course sometimes the new things can be immense, I was well amused by some...
Hi chap,
Couple of old ones here, ill get some some better ones if its dry enough to clean the car tomorrow,
Got them off ebay but they didnt half require a bit of modding to get them to fit nicely, easy enough to paint, and they're pop riveted into the arches,
Pete
