I did the next round Forrestburn with a standard Ph1 box and the car felt really slow but i managed a 4th which was not bad considering i'd never been there before and had an open diff.
We had a further trip back to Fintray where we got a class win and a 2nd and two 3rd's, Got pipped by...
Some further testing at a local track had us changing the spring rates to stiffen the car up as we we're starting to run on the tyre sidewalls!. I went for 825lbs up front and fitted gaz coilovers with 450lbs on the rear. It was then corner weighted and setup by ex british hillclimb champ and...
So i just won the Scottish Hillclimb A2 Road Class in the old girl. Its been an eventful season with a diff explosion being the worst mechanical we had but it held together pretty well for most of the season.
So here are some pics and vid's of the season.
First up was a test trackday at...
So we had our first Hillclimb last weekend, Car ran great and weather was immense. The old Clio dragged me up the hill in a PB time of 52:04 and a class win on both days. My nephew Was double entered with me managed to beat me a few time in practice but had to settle for a 2nd & 3rd still a...
So i bought this back last month!. Its been in the hands of a local guy who did some hillclimbs and sprints with it. He also fettled it a bit engine wise so it's now a good bit faster.
Plans are to tackle the full Scottish Speed Championship and some track days too.
Depends on what else you use the car for?. I had a gripper diff in my hillclimb Clio and it was very aggressive so daily driving would it be good option, the quaiffe is supposed to be the better option if daily driving is required.
Agency transmissions are the people to speak to regards...
I know a man who can sort your box for you locally. He did mine when it was popping out of gear and did a great job. I got all the bits from agency transmission who are miles cheaper than Aberdeen Renault. Coolant is about £10 for 5 litres mate.
Agency transmissions for all your parts mate, check out burpspeed they recommended them to me and I have to say they are excellent and a lot cheaper than Renault!. Not sure if they have off the shelf boxes but worth a call!.
Looks like my standard clutch has disintegrated after only 3 events so it may be time to upgrade it. What's available out there and doe's anyone have any experiences of these type of clutches?.
Ah thats me out then as i run ast top mounts and i don't fancy messing with the setup just now. Seems strange that the Scottish regs are more forgiving.
Is that "THE" Martin Rowe ex professional rally driver in first place?.
Good results keep it up we all have off days!
Where would i find regs for the road class that you guys use, I fancy doing some British championship rounds if my cars allowed?.
For the time being but if i get an offer then it will go.
This is the part of the season when work interfere's drastically with the championship and i will drop 3 events now. Its a shame because the car is obviously competitive now so it would have been good to have a fight with the Touring Car...
