    I had the same problem. Used 3 litres of castrol syntrans 75w90 from halfords and it cured it Supposedly, it needs to be GL4 spec and you have GL5? Or maybe the other way around

    The plugs are pretty new so wont be coming out for a good few thousand miles. Gonna buy the draper kit with the solid black inserts. Atleast theres no tab to snap off and go in the cylinder.

    I just use brembo hc's and either the EBC ulimax pads or mintex oe spec ones. Pretty decent setup and only costs around £65

    cup doesnt have air con so different aux belt not sure how much it is but think its cheaper for cup aux belt as its a different set up. someone else will be able to confirm. I'd get them for peace of mind while the engines out the car.

    You are looking at £100 to £150 for cambelt kit depends which one you buy and where from and £70ish for aux belt kit providing its a non cup etc easy to fit with the correct tools and the engine out the car

    Agree with jon When mines went i got my head rebuilt with 16 new valves, seals etc for £400 including a headgasket kit. On top of that cambelt and aux belt kit £200, i was lucky to be able to use the bottom end again as there was no damage to pistons. Theres £600 with me doing it all myself...

    im sure the bearing caps are part of the cam cover and are not separate. new cam cover if they are damaged. if they aint damaged they should be ok to use

    Starter motor is under the exhaust manifold. Does it just click when you turn the key? Try using your black jump lead and attach one end to the gearbox and the other to the battery. If it starts then you have a bad earth strap check the connections behind passenger headlight and on the lower...

    They are near standard if i remember. I asked about them a while ago. They should be ok to use with standard ecu etc. As for the bearing caps/journals. Arent they part of the rocker cover so you would need to change to rocker cover? Someone else will be able to advise you a bit better but...

    The starting fault can possibly be bad strap from gearbox to chassis or chassis to battery. Check behind the passenger headlight that all connections are clean etc. or the starter motor is jammed. Give it a dunt with a hammer The abs problem, cracked abs ring?

    Fixed now :) silly me forgot to tighten the ecu earth strap. Only noticed it cos i fiddled with the loom down there and the car stopped. Would explain why the immobiliser kept coming on too :) Thanks for the input guys. Well chuffed now :)

    It isnt in limp mode though. The emissions light comes on when i rev it but goes out when it returns to idle. Throttle response is very slow. Doesnt limp mode fire up loads of lights and stays there till you switch it off and back on? Will check brake fluid etc, gear oil is fine and pas fluid...

    Nah mate lol used all locking tools genuine renault aswell. Thats what i thought. Does the dash show ----h only for the engine oil level or is it for anything else
