Bilstein B14 and Ktec Top Mounts

@Louis - Gave them a light clean up with some emory paper and they slot straight on. My top hat and collar sit flush, not sure any need for a washer but will try when fully rebuilt & see if i notice any knocking. Thanks for your reply!

Bilstein B14 and Ktec Top Mounts

I'm also fairly confident that the helper spring should be on the bottom of the main spring opposed to the top as these have been delivered. Does it matter??

Bilstein B14 and Ktec Top Mounts

Good afternoon Chaps, I’ve just tried to mock build my front struts into the top mounts and hit a problem. The lower insert in the top mount does not fit all the way over the strut piston. It goes over the threads ok but is not big enough in diameter to locate onto the top spring cup. I’ve...

Clio 172 workshop bottom end manual

I've re-used main bolts before, dont have the spec to hand anymore but i never had a problem. When installing new bearings, apply plastigauge to the shell before torquing down to ensure the crank is within tolerance.

    Exhaust place essex

Honestly, your best bet would be to get a local exhaust firm to remake the mounts to hang in the original mounts. The lower 2 pictures show where the other OE mount should bolt too. I'm only up at Wickford, if you ever need a hand on it give me a shout!

    Exhaust place essex

They aren't OE mounts & don't look anywhere near man enough to support the weight of the exhaust. What system do you have fitted? Where in Essex are you?

    Brake compensator valve seized

All PH2 172 have them, just the cup is not joined to the axle as I first thought. It appears lots of people have issues but seems as if yours has been removed as I described above. Do you have any issues with rear wheels locking up under hard braking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brake compensator valve seized

Had a good read, going to replace flexi pipes for braided as nsf is badly required and check if they bleed ok. If they do, I’ll leave that how it is! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brake compensator valve seized

Evening all, Had a good look round the car for the first time tonight after buying it. Instantly I have seen that the brake compensation valve / bias valve what ever you like to call it is seized and no longer connected to the axle! Being a track car, has anyone removed this and just joined...

    Track Day Tyres - 205/50/15

I’ve got some bilsteins on the way with 182 60mm hubs (Bearing different??) bushes are all being replaced with poly race spec items until next year when I’ll upgrade to a 2/3 way set of coilovers. I brought the car fairly cheap and it needed a bunch to get started but all will be upgraded...

    Track Day Tyres - 205/50/15

Ok cool. I plan on getting one soon so will be out on slicks by the end of the year definitely. Do you run slicks? What ones do you use? Do you scrape them etc after each use?

    Track Day Tyres - 205/50/15

Cheers James. I'm not running a cage just yet so i've ruled out slicks until the summer time. From what i understand, you cant run slicks without a cage on general track days?

Alright Chaps, Looking to use 205/50/15 with my new 2118's on track. Years ago, I used prada spec 2's as they were super cheap but im now a little more competitive with timing and i want to get the best out of each lap! What are you others using? Cheers Mark
