Crickey. Not that bad.
Just maybe say 10-15 degrees or so but noticeable. It has been like that for years from what I recall just wondered if it was normal as it is still on the original shafts. 150k aswell.
Just trying to rule it out from causing the knocking I can now hear. MOT next weekend...
Strangely the whole shaft rotates not just the end. So the play seems to be the gearbox end I would suggest. Assume this is normal. Other than the knock when setting off and letting odd it seems to drive okay
Hi guys
How much rotational play should be in the driveshaft. I can rotate mine a fair few degrees before it starts to 'engage' for want of a better word.
I'm getting a knock when setting off and letting off the gas at low speeds and that's the only thing down there I seem to get any movement...
Hi all
I've had the 182 now for 9 and a half years. loved every minute of it. I know the car inside and out and do 95% of the work on it myself - bar belts.
I have generally taken it for a paid service when its due just to get the book stamped. I currently have only 1 space left for a service...
I know it's a late reply but just wanted to add my take on this as I did mine today
I found that if you take the front passenger side wheel off you can get both hands in, you kind of have to hug the disc brake a bit, but I gave up trying to get it from below. Hopefully this may help someone...
Brake pedal switch possibly
I had similar a number of years ago now.
Engine off
Brake pedal pressed in - hold pressed in
Twist and pull brake pedal switch off just above pedal - pull little plunger right out then insert back in
release brake pedal. start car and drive off
I believe this is...
Well, they went on with no damage/stripped threads etc.
Took me about 30 minutes to undo the bottom bolt on 1 side, had to get a longer bar on the ratchet as it was effing tight
Plus working on the floor meant I could only turn the bolt about a 1/8 of a turn at a time before taking the long bar...
Hi all
I'm waiting for a set or rear cup shocks to arrive, but was just wondering if there was a torque setting in nm for how tight the bottom bolt should be? Or is is just a case of 'that feels tight enough'
Thanks
Could well be the same. Mine was more of a 'I have actual experience of this exact item' from this seller and I know it works, rather than just finding the cheapest on ebay to prove a point.
I had this problem, people said it was a really expensive part.
I bought a brand new one off ebay, it wasn't an official renault part but it was the right part and it took 15 mins to fit.
That was about November 2013
The seller I bought mine from below...
When my engine went after a few thousand miles after an aux belt I was fobbed off. Northwest performance did the work, they told me that it wouldn't be them and that I should take it to Renault but if I did it would cost a fortune as Renault would charge loads to strip it down and rebuild.
So I...
Why would you replace all the pump, alternator, ac compressor?
If they are working its just a waste of money.
I wouldn't even call it preventative maintenance, just replace whats faulty and save the cash
I would get the oil changes asap to the correct grade.
The oil level flashing is when the oil is low on the dipstick as you have found, and also comes on when parked with the car on a slope, usually leaning down on the right i've discovered. Top the level up will sort it.
Sweet smell, is the...
Hi guys
Just a few questions about the installation of a 172 engine/gearbox in a 182
I know that it should be a straight swap as they are almost identical apart from the breather. Does this breather need anything doing to it or is it just left as is?
Also the gearbox on a 172 has the speedo...
My 1.2 was hit from behind, no damage to the bumper apart from 2 small marks where the reg plate screws of the car that hit it were. The boot floor creased but the insurance said they would repair it.
All this internet talk of 95% chance of writing off is rubbish. Its just a crease in metal...
Over a tyre that is the wrong size and illegal....yes! without a hesitation
http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_410.htm
Put the tyre on the front and see what happens. I can tell you that you will feel it straight away and it will throw at least 4 lights up on the dash.
I had to fit a 205/55/16 to...
