Will do. Its not used very often to be honest has done only a few thousand miles this year. First time it has let me down in 5 years :-( its really bugging me with what it could be though.
Well ive cleaned the sensor and wiggled the wire for it and it still wont fire.
Fuel pump sounds like its coming on
Battery has been fully charged
I've checked all fuses
Anything else to check?
Went to take the clio for its MOT and it wouldn't start. The last time i drove it was a week ago.
Engine turns over fine but it just wont fire.
Am I right in thinking its probably the TDC sensor? I there an easy way to tell if it is this before spending £60 on a new one?
Thanks
It will either be a blocked drainage hole in the skirt. There are 3 of them under the car on each side along the skirt.
Or you need to remove the front wheel arch liner and them is a drain at the bottom that gets blocked with crud. I took about 2 handfuls out from there last time I cleaned it!
TBH i've got the mintex 1144 pads and i'm finding them allot worse than the yellow stuffs I had before. They seem to fade quite quickly and there biting point is really inconsistent depending largely on how hot the brakes are.
Noticed mine doing this today on the passenger side. Stripped it down this evening checked everything you have (found nothing) and took it for a test drive. On the drive I found that if I brake gently whilst going over a bump small pothole there is no noise. So therefore from what I can tell its...
My steering rack has developed some play in it and its causing a slight knock around wheel centre. It's been on some ramps today so we are pretty sure its the rack. My question is can the pinion be adjusted to take up any slack.
According to a manual I have the SMI rack has an adjustment nut...
Yes the cir-clip will stop side to side movement in one direction but if the butterfly wants to move towards the end with the cir-clip, the side to side movement will not be stopped. Getting a cir-clip isn't going to fix anything I have been there tried it and after a few weeks it starts...
I'm happy to learn on this. I've got a few things i can practice on before touching the Clio. What would you recommend I get pad and polish wise? Also need something to bring the headlights up! Cheers
Thanks for the reply I understand that it will cut very easily sue to the heat it produces but surely if I’m careful and keep the speed/pressure low and don’t spend too long in the same area it shouldn’t be a problem? I really don’t have the money for a DA and would like to get this working if...
Yeah standard exhausts are stealth. It could be a cheap replacement exhaust, some of which are known to be quite loud. Pictures would really help though!
Somebody who specialise's in Renault Sport cars, even some of the dealers don't have a clue what they are doing. I've been to a Renault dealer and was told they didn't do a 2.0 clio....
Tell us what part of the country you live and someone will recommend a specialist to you
I drive mine 100 miles each day and I'm averaging 40mpg which includes driving it very hard down some B roads to the motorway and then cruising at 80 on the M-Way. It's just about driving sensibly when there's not room to drive hard i.e in flowing traffic, going through town etc.
Girlfriends dad has a Clarke CP180 which he's hardly ever used. I was hoping it would be good enough for minor correction etc?
If it is what backing plates, pads and polish would people recommend I get to start with? Car is Iceberg silver and I would also like to use the polisher to revive...
When cornering hard in either direction I get a creaking noise from the drivers footwell. It can't be the trackrods the track rod ends or ARB bushes as they have been replaced.
Any ideas what it could be?
