Hi Peeps,
Where are you guys sourcing your rear abs sensors from? The ones on ebay do not look like the right fitments. Renault want 90 odd quid which is quite frankly day light robbery!
Must be a better alternative? GSF and Eurocarparts I dont believe stock them any longer?
I would like to say thank you to both Gally and Revels. Having not dealt with an insurance company before or a write off, their assistance was superb. Specifically Gally who provided me with enough ammunition to get the book value for my car and then some.
Anyone in the same position as me can...
To be fair, I had it 3 years...alot longer than I have had any car, and it had the GDI touch of magic, and never went wrong. Gave me a new outlook on Renault.
Winks @ Danny
and if they offer me £2700, do i just say no thanks? Because as far as im aware, they will just play hard ball and say well thats what we have evaluated it at, and thats all we are prepared to give you. Im playing worst case scenario to be prepared. Its not something ive had the pleasure of...
Im awaiting a pay out from my insurance company. Only mod was a stealth exhaust which was declared.
Car was a late 2001 Flame Red Clio Phase 2. In what I consider to be very good original condition. With FSH, cambelts, clutch etc all being done way before they were needed.
Mileage was just...
Ive had problems with my KTR panel filter. The rubber surround has deteriorated quite severely. Im still awaiting a response months down the line. Patience is obviously not the way forward lol.
pics?
I like the write up, although if i spent £10,000 plus on a new car I would argue it was better in everyway too :)
I think for £4000 the 172/182 is a very capable and solid car and well worth the money.... given the choice I would buy the 197 for the new factor, but I dont think I could...
Also those apex springs are very hard. Cause no end of rattles in the car, so make sure you put that back to standard or buy some better ones.
Get the MOT done, piece of mind that way.
Looks like an OK car, sounds like he is a member of here as he has access to the members section :) So ask about
Hi Sean, welcome to the club.
There are some mint ph2's out there with low mileage for the money you have, You just need to keep an eye open on pistonheads. It might even be worth saving up the extra 500 to find a better example if funds allow.
The differences between the ph1 and ph2 engine...
I would recommend changing the oil as this helped with my crunchyness and smoothed out 3rd and 5th. Go on opieoils.co.uk and get castrol EPX75/80w x4 litres. You will need about 3.2litres to fill.
If that doesnt help it might be worth checking the gearbox mounts.
Gearbox oil should be changed...
Sounds nothing like a synchro issue. Specially if you have what you describe as a smooth gearbox. What it probably is and has been said is the gearbox engine mounts. You have the dog bone one on the bottom, and you have a larger one on top of the gearbox under the battery.
Your best bet would...
Well checked on diagnostics and everything was fine on there. Removed spark plugs and swapped those over. Still have the jerky pulling away around 2000rpm. Remapped car with latest aug 6400 cal file and the same thing.
Has to be something else like lambda or TB maybe?
That would be dangerous for many reasons. If you wanted to "try" it, then at least make sure you are running the same software as him and have the same 4 letters of VIN. Example CB1N.
the 6400 rst file is the group n map. Some cars respond better to the 6400 cal file and some cars respond better to the 6400rst file, and other cars for both! Play around with it! thats what you got the kit for.
Stick to the rules and you will be ok!
I installed the 6400 rst file (grp N) and...
I have the same problem, im going to have a good luck at it the weekend. Has your car been remapped?
See my thread. My car is on 65k
