Just wondered if anyone has had one and if they have had any problems afterwards? I'm thinking of getting one from these guys - www.remapscience.co.uk Anyone heard of them, or would you reccommend somewhere else?
Turned my wipers on this morning and they wouldn't move with the snow on them. I cleared it a bit and they moved once. I then tried again and they wouldn't move although it still sounds like the motor is working fine.
If I move them manually they feel quite loose as if the motor isn't...
My wifes car conked out today. Clutch is flat to the floor and it won't go into gear when engine running. It looks like there might be some gearbox oil on the floor underneath.
Any ideas how much it'll cost to change just the clutch and how much if the gearbox is knackered too? It's a K12 1.0E...
I'm considering upgrading the turbo/using nitrous on my dci and was wondering if anyone can recommend or can give me some advice on what injectors I can get that will allow me to do this? Or even how much power the injectors in a dci 80 can allow.
Thinking of getting my dci remapped but was wondering if how much nitrous the engine/transmission can take with occasional use of nitrous on top of the remap?
I'd hopefully use a progressive wet kit.
Just wondered if anyone manufactures upgraded injectors for the 82/86 bhp Dci?
If not how would I go about getting someone to make them (if possible)and what are the costs?
I wouldn't bother if it wasn't relatively straight forward. It just seemed like a cool idea since I know that some of the Micras/Clios share engines, that a 182 swap might be possible with minimal amount of work. I would of course leave it to the professionals.
£2500 sounds more than reasonable.
My thoughts exactly. Would be a giggle! Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or more likely beer-holder in this case). I like the look of them anyways. Wouldn't have bought one otherwise and they come with a good amount of kit for the money. Would leave it standard looking aswell...
As the K12 Micra and Renault Clio now share engines (might just be the diesel lumps?), just wondered how easy it would be to transfer a Clio 172/182 or 197 lump in to a Micra? Would it fit?
Anyone know?
Yeah, but a Focus ST got 1.34.9, a Civic type r 1.36.5! A Monaro got 133.5 for ffs!
Different 'Stigs' probably with different conditions to be fair. For example the Focus ST posted a slower time than the RS, yet was allegedly faster round the Nurburg.
As many have stated, there's probably...
Vid not available? Also, I don't need to 'believe' it when I've experienced it. Also, applying basic Maths (power to weight) and looking at performance figures the Clio would more than stand a chance.
Let's not forget that Top Gear reviews as entertaining as they are, are not without prejudice.
There's no way on earth a RX8 is as fast as an M3. The RX8's handle well but they weigh a hell of a lot more than a clio.
The Fiesta ST was about the same speed as the Focus ST round the 5th gear track. I know what the fastest car is in reality though!
Not much in it to be fair. I kept up with a 190 version (I guess it must have been that) in a lightly modded vts a few years back. If anything I was gaining which surprised me at the time.
A 182 would be faster than that version and about as fast (maybe faster?) than the 230 version although...
So basically, upgraded intercooler is the best bet to start with.
No one has bothered making bigger injectors but if they did the best sort of power out of the standard turbo would be 130bhp or could more be possible?
A bigger turbo and injectors (if available) would push this figure even...
Just wondered what sort the 80 bhp version has and what sort of boost it runs? What sort of gains can be had and is it worth getting a bigger turbo?
Cheers
Just test drove a Micra dci as a possible cheap runaround as I do a lot of miles now. Have to say I was very impressed. It was the '25' model and came with loads of goodies and to be honest it was quite nippy. Also, it's only £35 a year to tax and does combined 60mpg. If it's remapped it comes...
Think there's one just off the A19 near Hartlepool (A19 Test & Tune I think it's called). If I remember rightly theres one in Maiden Law (near Lanchester) aswell.
I've got a couple of dints and scratches on my bonnet. How much would a body shop charge to fix this?
Also, the drivers door looks like someones kicked it although there are no creases in the metal. How much is this likely to cost to fix?
Thanks.
So can regular servicing with good quality oils etc help reduce this or will this not matter. Obviously it'll make things last longer but will it retain power?
Nope, gotta be cruel to be kind. Seriously though, pretty much the same car. My mate has a 172 I had a 182. 182 a tiny, tiny bit faster but not really noticeable on the road.
Remember, search is your friend ;)
