What's this ring on my shock?

I've got two identical part numbers for my rear shocks (Bilstein B4) however I've just realised one has an additional ring the other doesn't. Does anyone know why and/or what it's for? Googling the part number does show both versions

    Any Tableau users?

Don't suppose there are any Tableau {Desktop} users here, that build reports? I'm stuck with making a dynamic chart where the results of a parameter change 3 targets and an actual. I have two data sources - One containing the actual's, among other things and one containing the targets. Table1...

    SQL Help

Hey benders, I'm trying to port a Business Objects query to an SQLPlus script (Oracle) - I have built a table that pulls all the required data from the data warehouse (eqso01.svc_lvl) and it's aliased as tmp. I am now creating some tables from this, which incorporates some of the calculations...

    Depinning indicator connector

Good morning CS, The 997 has been throwing an indicator fault randomly yet every time I got out and checked it was working. After it trolling me for a couple of weeks, I’ve ascertained it to be the front left turn signal, more notably the wiring. Wiggling the brown cable will cause it to go in...

    Identifying brake aftermarket brake discs!

Ok, long story short, wife's MOT is up on the 29th for her 2016/66 Caddy. Rather than take advantage of the additional month she gets to test early - obviously she only booked it in yesterday, to the only garage that had space before xmas, and it failed. Muppets in the garage were going to...

Insurance claim - Low ball offer

After crashing the 987 a fortnight ago, I got a call today from my insurance company's "vehicle replacement affiliate" He mentioned the car had been written off and the value given £5,800 (nice to know they tell their affiliate before they tell me, huh) Now, the car had covered 100,500 miles...

SQL - Why isn't this returning records from both tables in the union?

I am writing a query for data retreival from an AS400 using ODBC, currently writing the query in SQL Commander because the UI is nicer than STRSQL in DB2 / Microsoft Query. If I do; select pal#pm as palletID, clsspm as pallet_classification, clsqpm as qty_at_class from warpall where pal#pm =...

    SQL Query construction help

I'm trying to automate a query from our AS400 using ODBC. I have two select statements that work independently, however I wish to join them - the statements all come from one table and there are no joins, there also some criteria in the where clause present in both. Can someone advise the best...

    What tyres?

Need some tyres for the Abarth, the Michelin's didn't last too long. What's everyone using these days? Want a decent grip level in both wet & dry, with a half decent wear rate. What's the best all rounder?

    Any AS/400 users on here?

Been blessed with this lovely & stable but outdated system to work on. Our support and development team have just abandoned us keeping all their RPG source code, leaving us somewhat high and dry. To be fair the system is massively robust but we need to add a few reports, which shouldn't be too...

    Shaft back into hub....

Changing my abs rings as the pedal fart is really getting annoying now! I've taken off the caliper, disc, undone the strut, pulled the shaft from the hub & just about to refit the new ring. For reassembly, will I get the shaft in the hub easily? I test ran it and the splines locked very early...

Removing a 182 exhaust that' been 'sleeved'

Afternoon all, Tried removing my 182's cat today, it's been sleeve modded and I cant get the frigging thing out. I've tried a hammer (repeatedly), WD40, GT85, more hammering, prying a gap in the centre section where it resides to 'loosen' it... Do I really need heat to get this off? I'm at the...

    Replacing Handbrake / Lever

Recently replaced the handbrake cables on the 182, noticed that the tensioning arm that they lock into that's tightened with a 13mm bolt, is bent, this means it doesnt tension properly or evenly. I assume I'll need to replace the whole handbrake assembly and not ust the threaded bar underneath...

Help with GF's Golf Gti ...

Ok, bit unorthodox asking on a Clio forum but the userbase here was always more knowledgeable than the gti forums I've frequented. New handbrake cables and swapped caliper.

Just got and part fitted some handbrake cables on the 182. Also swapped a sticking caliper over, just wondering what is the correct order to reassemble? Handbrake off, bleed brakes, tighten adjuster until discs wont move then undo half a turn? Then pull handbrake up?

Trophy #60 (Cat C) - Just won this on eBay

Just won this tonight on eBay for £2k. It's cat c and had a pretty bad writeup on here previously with people seeing it as a bad/cheap repair and no cambelt history. Checked the later history on ClioTrophy and gaztubby had had the belts done, spruced up a little --- Surely if this...
