Place to buy helmet near Bournemouth?

Hi, I need a karting/trackday helmet but can't find anywhere nearby Bournemouth, or the South in general for that matter, that sells them. Reluctant to just buy one off the net before I've tried it on for obvious reasons. Anyone know of a place round here that sells them? Cheers

    vee vs alfa 147 gta

just seen this (cheers jamie found it from the alfa forum). I went from a clio 16v to an Alfa 147 GTA... bit of a change I can tell you. I agree with all the comments made, I have the Q2 diff fitted makes a big difference. I find its always CTR drivers who try it on, which the Alfa makes...

Test drove a 182... not what i was expecting

Yep was prepared for the power deficit and for it "feeling slow" but that one I tried was way too slow and lumpy. And although the Alfa has the legs above 60, upto 60 there shouldn't be too much in it really although I've never had the pleasure of finding out. Cheers for 172 owners offers but...

Test drove a 182... not what i was expecting

Thinking of chopping in the Alfa for a 182/Trophy to start doing track days so took a 182 out which was on 50,000 miles. I used to have a valver before and have a soft spot for clio's, never driven a 182 but this one must have been a real dog - properly lumpy after warming up and what felt...

Yeah that was me mate! Thought it was you coming out of B+Q, then noticed the sticker and you mentioned your exhaust was a bit wonky. I did feel a bit like a stalker must admit... but they've shut that other bit of road well annoying. First ever spot, sure our paths will cross again... The...

wheel bearing gone- how long can I drive it?

Hi, My wheel bearing is making a sound, and is getting slowly worse. Earliest time I can get it into the garage is next wednesday. I've probably done around 40 miles with it making a noise already, how long can I drive it for like this? If I drive it too long can I cause any serious damage...

    valver wont start.

I know how to bypass the imobiliser on a valver. Its a series of button and pedal presses which will disable it until you get a plip key which will enable it again. Had to do it on mine when I lost my plip key. Not sure if i'm allowed to post it though as its pretty invaluable for a car...

    Pro evo 6 = pants

I find PES6 a lot better than PES5, and FIFA gets nowhere near to either. The only downside I find with 6 is that if playing with autoselect it switches players at ridiculous moments. But seeing as some pikey broke in and stole my PS2 on Sunday night its no more Pro evo... :(

    5.1 Brake fluid

thought i'd read around the net about this and this is what ive found... DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are all hydroscopic its the nature of the fluid. 5.1 is no more hydroscopic than the rest. DOT5.1 doesn't need changing any more often, only after track days etc or if it has boiled. (on the bottle it...

    5.1 Brake fluid

yeah tried a search didn't find much, ill have another look. Would it not require changing often only if your doing track days and the like? It's just that I can get it for cheaper than dot 4. From what i understand 5.1 can just withstand a higher temperature, is this right? Just ordered...

    5.1 Brake fluid

Got a whole new set of f+r discs and pads from Halfords for the valver (can't complain for £85!) and got 1L of 5.1 performance brake fluid, only £3.50 on trade. Is 1L going to be enough to bleed the brakes with? What's the deal with 5.1 and is it better than the dot 4 stuff? It was more...

It's renewal time and I don't know what to give as the address of where the car is kept, as I'm at uni and home for almost exactly equal time. I was shocked to find my home in a small village in the countryside is actually in a worse insurance rated area than the s**thole I live in at uni...

    AMD vs INTEL (dual core)

Go with Intel. I worked there for 14months and know that all the benchmarking the lads did in the labs against AMD the Intel chip always came out on top. With our older processors we were losing massive market share to AMD but the new dual/quad cores have seen Intel get back in the game again...

Need all new discs/pads for valver which one?

Got MOT done by my mate today and it passed fine but all the discs/pads are a bit of a state and need replacing. I don't do track days or drive it too hard so don't need the best setup ever, just something good, reliable and well priced. Don't want to change calipers as I think its OTT for...

Is the garage taking the p*ss? clutch question
