Renault no longer sells the top coolant hose (radiator to thermostat) for Ph1 172s so does anyone know if a Ph2 172 and 182 hose are the same?

Any idea if the aftermarket ones can use the Renault coolant pipe connectors or are you expected to use hose clips? Cheers

When I click the key to unlock the car and open one of the doors it then keeps the car unlocked, but if I don't open a door it will lock itself again after a couple of minutes. I thought the same thing used to happen if I opened the boot that it would cancel the auto-lock, but when I do it now...

With the engine off, lying underneath if I move the wheels from side to side there is lot of sloshing noise in the steering rack. Is that normal, I thought the valves inside the rack would stop the fluid sloshing about?

What a difference they make to my Ph1. It feels really good, well impressed. They have replaced some 182 Cup springs that I've had on for a few years until one snapped a couple of weeks ago. Good price direct from Germany £105 delivered and they came a day earlier than promised, that's efficiency.

Just after confirmation please that all 172 and 182 bonnets were the same and are interchangeable? I've sheared all four bolts off mine and in the process of fitting the thread repairs I have almost gone through it (and I was being really careful!).

My Ph1 has developed a noise under the dephaser solenoid switch. It doesn't stop if I unplug it. It sounds like a pigeon at rest to me! I'm wondering if it might be cam related? I took the top mount off and it isn't the dephaser, it's something under the solenoid if not the valve itself. Any...

Samco's website shows the coolant hose kits fitting Clio's from 2002 onwards. Has anyone bought a kit for a Ph1, do they fit properly?

It's a small amount leaking out and seems to be bubbling from the manifold at the top nut as shown in the photo. The oil level on the dip stick hardly ever drops between oil changes. I've torqued it again but it still comes out. Any ideas what is causing it please as it's a bit messy?

After 12 years on the car I changed the old thermostat for a new one. Needle now sits in the middle of the temp gauge and car is feeling a bit better for it. Shows how small changes make a difference. Cost £15 from Renault (comes with a gasket fitted so don't let them flog you it separately).
