DMG is the damage per round. DPM is affected by other factors. As I understand it at least.
DPM is great if every round hits the target (unlikely with recoil) but DMG is better for a marksman rifle with single headshots. I think.
I never researched the issue too much, as it was intermittent for me and appeared to go away with an update. However, I suspect there are too many variables at play to draw a conclusion. Most likely the drop-outs are related to radio traffic in the home.

I played Crimson Days and really enjoyed it. Then it got ruined by knob heads jumping off the map just to get the game over as quickly as possible. Im not sure how they thought other players would chip away at the bounties if their opponents kept jumping off the map like twelve year olds...
