Hi - I'm looking for recommendations for someone to check / set up the suspension geometry and alignment on a Trophy - in the Cambridgeshire area. Any ideas most welcome .....
Asking for a friend :-)
Thanks in advance

I'm looking at ways to reduce the weight of my sprint / hillclimb car..... This afternoon I spent a couple of hours with a heat gun removing masses of bitumen sound deadening panels from the boot where the previous owner had put a massive sound system :-(
For my next job i'm thinking about...
My air bag light came on this morning..... which is strange as all airbags have been removed and replaced with resistors. I looked at the steering wheel resistors this afternoon - all looked ok. Tomorrow I'm going to look at the seat / side impact wiring and check the resistors there...
I can't get my normal sprint tyres so I am thinking about trying Maxsport RB5 in soft compound. The RB5 size is slightly larger than my normal ones ... They are 205 x 55 x15 whilst my old ones (VR2s) are 195 x 50 x 15. My wheels are speedline 2118s with et 43.
I like the idea of a bit more...
Recommended as a cheap, semi slick trackday tyre...... but be careful not to go for too soft a compound.
I expect there will be quite a lot of interest this year in the VR1 tread pattern .... as a 'wet' tyre for Sprints and Hillclimbs (they are now listed as a 1B tyre by the UK Motor Sports...
Nothing to do with me - but I just spotted these on Facebook and thought that at £45 a tyre they are very good value. Brand new, E-marked, road legal ..... and the S2 compound only came out this year so they can't be old tyres. Also the VR1 will be an MSA List 1B tyre from 1st January next...
Congratulations to Heather Calder ..... crowned last weekend as the 2017 MSA UK Sprint Champion. Driving a 3.5 litre V8 Gould GR55 she hit 170 mph at Knockhill last weekend and she is the first female Sprint champion for 47 years.
Can someone confirm that 15 x 7 et35 will fit a 2005 Clio 182?
I'm looking at a cheap set of Team Dynamics for wet weather tyres. The fitment website says et35 to et38 should be ok but my current wheels are speedline with an et43? I am running quite a lot of negative camber on the front...
The car is a 2005 Clio 182 cup..... it jumped out of first gear last weekend and I think it can only get worse. I have a break from competition for a few weeks so now seems a good time to refresh the 'box. I'm thinking of a kit that includes at a minimum some new bearings, synchos and seals...
A good friend sent me this photo last night of his mini jump starter battery - the learning point is that if you buy a small 'Jump Start' battery pack then make sure it has polarity protection. The battery exploded and was then fizzing and smoking for about half an hour .... nobody hurt :-)
Chapter 1 – How on earth did I get to own a Clio?
2016 will be etched in my memory for 3 main reasons -
Brexit referendum;
Trump being elected as the leader of the free world;
After 50 years of motoring I bought my first French car – a Racing Blue (RB) 182 for Hillclimbing and Sprinting...
I used a Carnauba wax today for the first time today...... quite impressed with the coverage and the results.
My dumb question is can this wax be used on some of the trim as well ? i e I used it for the carbon fibre trim on the mirrors as well and it seems to work fine... but before i go mad...
The MSA have listed a new competition tyre ...... Extreme VR2 - which I believe is made in Poland?
The tread pattern looks similar to the AR1 but the new VR2 comes in three different compounds (soft, medium or hard) which might make it a good option for competition use.
Has anybody tried...
My first post as a new member:
K-Tec are building a hillclimb and sprint car for me using a rather neglected Clio 182 as a basis - its in a rather nifty French Racing Blue colour and its registration number is M100CUP.
The car is currently covered in about 2 inches of dust and debris and...
