I’m having a bit of trouble with the front suspension on my kangoo172.
the cup shocks and springs I had on it were too low and caused some scrubbing on track.
the Koni struts and stiffer springs I replaced them with are even lower, I should have checked before purchasing!
as the kangoo strut...
Unfortunately my car’s not going to be ready in time for Donny on Wednesday so my ticket is up for sale.

MSVT Event - Wednesday 24 June 2020 | General Track Day | Donington Park National Circuit
evening all,
I’ve removed the power steering, AC and tensioner from the aux belt set up on my 172 track car.
My new setup has the belt running over the top of the pully like picture 1 (not my car)
The origional setup was with the belt running under the pully like in picture 2 (also not mine)...
evening all,
Anyone know where I can buy the oil breather gasket (just below the inlet manifold)
I can find it as part of a pack, but they're £60+
Cheers,
Tim
Hi all,
Here's a couple of videos from my trip to the ring this week if you're interested, the second video has a quick 'off track' moment, but nothing serious. I managed to do a 9min 19sec lap, with a bit of traffic and a yellow flag (clio v6 in the barrier!) but I couldn't have pushed much...
For those who have been debating using them,
I fitted a new set of 195/50/15's (£316 delivered from JCC) for my ring trip this week.
There excellent, easily on par with R888's.
They are softer though, so wear slightly quicker. They're also quite noisy, but my car's always loud so not a...
Evening guys,
I've just fitted the sm intake, it's a bit of a pain but achieveable for someone with basic knowledge.
The problem i'm having is the plugs for the injector are hitting the intake and off setting the injectors slightly.
I've heard there's a fix but I have no idea whatvit is, any...
Evening all,
Does anywhere sell uprated wheel bearings?
I keep busting them on my 172 track car. It does have a hard suspencion set up and it takes a LOT of abuse.
The latest set of bearings have lasted about 1000 very hard miles.
Any ideas on how to stop it happening?
Cheers
Afternoon all,
After a few drinks on Saturday i ordered myself the sm intake from ebay (price just dropped btw) for my ph2 172
I've looked through the previous threads but wanted to check if anyone knows of another parts i'll need to fit it or get the best from it.
Cheers,
Tim
Evening all,
Looking for some track only tyres for the dry, got another set of wheels for the wet.
I was set on R888's but i've just seen another post on here about the new Nankang AR1's not much info out yet but they look good! Bit cheaper aswell. (Looking for 205/45/15 if that makes a...
hello all,
Anyone know a decent place to buy fully slick tyres. To fit 15" 7J wheels?
And what size, the ones i've seen have the sizes in a different format to the 195/45/15 i'm used to?
Cheers
Tim
As per title, i want to get a wider front for my 172 track car, can i just swap the subframe for the wider 172 cup one? Will it just bolt on?
Cheers,
Tim
Please help
Does a new dephaser pully for a 172 have moving parts?
Does it 'rattle' when held in your hand?
I have a funny rattle noise from the cambelt area after a cambelt/dephaser change and i seem to remember the pully had moving parts so suspect that
Cheers,
Tim
Evening all,
I am unfortunately 99% sure it is the dephaser, but having just checked youtube for some other examples, I am doubting myself. Is it possible that it is a aux pully or bearing?
As always, thanks for any advice

Afternoon all,
I have wired a battery isolator to my clio 172 track car but obviously if i remove isolator key the alarm stops working (I live in Basildon, I need an alarm). I am looking to wire the alarm to the permanent side of the battery so it still works after I isolate the battery from...
Hello,
After fitting BC coilovers and poly bushes all round, the caster of the front wheels has increased by a noticeable amount. Normally this would be a good thing, but not in my case. The car is a track car and unless I raise the suspension up much higher then I would like the wheels rub...
Afternoon,
I have been working on the car today and noticed a broken blue connector just above where the gearbox meets the engine. I tried to fix the problem by removing the connectors and taping them back in place until I could get a replacement, but now I can't get them back on.
What is it as...
As per title, I am looking to get the smallest wheels I can on mine to improve acceleration (at the cost of top end) in preparation for my next Brands Hatch Indy track day.
I have 15" Superleggeras, but would like to get some 14", but want to know if they fit first.
Cheers,
Tim
As per title,
Trying low lower the steering wheel no I have a low bucket seat, going to have a look tomorrow afternoon and see if it can be done. Has anyone done it before or got any tips?
Cheers,
Tim

Morning all,
I will be putting spacers on my wheels which will bring them past the arches, can anyone recommend a good way to extend the arches to cover this?
I am looking at some arch extensions (link below) on ebay but want to see if anyone has experience with this. They do not have to look...
Evening all,
I have removed the entire dash board from my car (see below) but still want somewhere to put the switches, radio, heater controls etc in the centre as it will still be a road legal car. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am guessing I will have to make something myself...
Hi All,
I am looking for some advice, and kind of fast (need to order them Friday morning). For those that haven't seen my other posts or project thread (link below), I have just started work on a 172 track car but know very little about how cars actually work, I only started on Friday so I am...
I have started a dyno day thread in the south east section but thought it may be applicable here. Link to the thread below. Please only respond on the other thread, this one will not be monitered.
Cheers,
Tim...
Hi all,
After seeing the cancelled dyno day I posted on the thread asking if anyone was interested to try again and I got a few responses so I though I would see if there is still enough interest to do it.
I figure it would be a good to get a load of local clio owners together so everyone can...
Evening all,
What do the 2 sensors do pictured? I think they are airbag related but not sure. As I am about to remove all the airbags I don't think I need them but not sure.
