This company on eBay is really good for small quantity nuts/bolts. I got everything I needed to fit mine (plus lots of other stuff over the years).

Anyone out there that can supply me with a refurbished gearbox with a Gripper fitted and ready to install into a 172 Cup? Assume retention of std CWP unless there's a strong recommendation for something different?
Don't have the facilities to remove myself and leave whilst my 'box being done...
There are numerous hillclimb series, most venues have their own championship, there are regional championships, e.g. Midland/ASWMC, as well as national i.e. British/Leaders.
The MX5 (MkI/II) is a great car, some clubs have their own distinct championship for them (e.g. Gurston- where I compete...
This is what I've been doing for the last couple of years, never going to win the class but have settled into a 'best of the rest' group where our times are always close and we have great banter as a result. First season was expensive due to having to buy car, helmet, overalls, etc. But now no...
No worries, got mine fitted, particular thanks to @Ads29 who supplied the seat belt bracket which made the job a whole lot easier.
Wish I'd gone for one of the x-low sub frames though, on runners the seat still sits too high for my liking.
Would ideally like the seat belt webbing to be...
Hi there, how have you got on? I've got my seat belt extension thingy, just wondering how folk are attaching to the seat, assuming drilling and bolting through the side mount?
hi, wondering if anyone has come across this?
Getting a clunk from rear when applying brake pedal when stationary. Appears to be from rear handbrake area. Doesn't appear to be an issue when on the move (i.e. not a rotational clunk), braking performance seems unaffected.
This thread helped me no end so thanks to previous posters. Here's a photo of my install, little bracket made up that uses the holes in the trinket tray...
Looking to get a bucket seat (leaning towards bimarco futura) for my roadgoing hillclimb Clio.
Want to retain the normal belts for road use, is this possible? Have heard that it might be possible to use a belt extender.
Anyone have this setup, any advice welcome, I guess only other option is...
I'm about to do exactly the same as you, but for my 172 Cup. Was talking to the Team Dynamics & Toyo guys at the Autosport show last Friday on this very topic,
The only other thing you need to take into consideration is offset. I'm pretty sure I need ET35, as for you I'm not sure, someone will...
In order of importance
1) New exhaust to replace the one who' innerds tried to free themselves during the final hillclimb event of the season
2) 15" wheels & List 1B tyres (probably R888R)
3) Front brake discs & pads
4) Lowered seat & harnesses

So the List 1A, 1B & (new for 2016) 1C lists are out, makes for interesting reading.
For me I'm going to have to wait for the Blue Book and local championship supplementary regs to be published, but I'm working on the basis that my roadgoing...
I went for Michelin PS3s for my first season hill climbing. My class allows 1a & 1b but given uncertainty about 1b/c for 2016 decided to err on the side of caution.
Trouble is, I'm now starting to notice the grip deficit to my competitors!
This stuff went on in the 80s as well, I mainly recall x-packed Mk2 Escorts Mk2/3 Capris and Mk1 Fiestas, often with disastrous results. e.g.

Ordered mine 10pm Friday evening, dispatched yesterday, arrived lunchtime today. Getting round to fitting them on the other hand will be a much longer affair ;-)
Even though I can run 1B in the Gurston road going class, I decided to go with 1A tyres for my first season (and to also wait to see what happens with the 1B/1C split for next year).
Anyway, having made that decision it was a toss up between Michelin PS3 & Conti CS3, I went with the Michelins.
Yup interested in how the 2 gauges fit in the clock/temp/radio display.
Prior to this I was going to dump the CD/radio and put a 3 gauge adaptor in there.
