    Boosting Laptop Speaker Volume

Not expecting anything that will fill the room and go beyond the physical capabilities of the speakers. If I play something on iplayer for example, I can easily leave it playing and still hear it clearly on the other side of a large room - Netflix on the other hand I might be 4 feet away, and...

    Boosting Laptop Speaker Volume

Does anyone know of a way to amplify the sound produced by laptop speakers? Main problem is with Netflix, where even with the volume at full there are times where I can hardly hear it if I'm any distance away. I know the speakers are physically capable of playing to a much louder volume as...

Todays Mainly Interior Valet (Something for the Jap Fans)

This is my teg and I really can't praise the work Callum did on the car enough! The interior is totally transformed from something that let the car down, to being at a great standard. As a quick aside, I would also say that whilst the EP3 may have a lack of 'feel' in the steering there is no...

    HID Fitting Help

If it is an H7 kit they can be a pain without the correct clips, as you can buy specific ones for H7 fitments. You can alter normal H7 clips to fit them though. I'll try and dig out a picture of the sort of clip you need so that you can suss out how to alter the standard one!

    Key Fob Through Washing Machine

A while ago I put my key fob through the washing machine by accident, and it no longer works. Just wondered if there is anything I can do to try and bring it back to life? At the time it was left to dry out before trying it but it wouldn't work. I replaced the battery and it still flashes...

    Locking wheel bolt removal

Yeah, seems to be a bugger but not had a proper look at it yet myself. Was it one of these you used by any chance: http://www.dynomec.co.uk/indexEnglish.html Going to give that company a ring tomorrow to see if it'll do the trick, and if so I'm told they will tell you of local garages...

    Locking wheel bolt removal

Nice one! Replied on their, but included it on here below in case you see if first (needing to get it sorted asap! lol) "Cheers, what sort of tools do you have? Most things I have come across need you to have access around the side of the bolt head but there is no room (only 1-2mm) between...

    Locking wheel bolt removal

That is what I would have thought it the best option tbh, but I've not had a look at it yet and am assuming the garage have some reason for not doing it. Out of interest how for recessed into the wheel was your nut? I'm just wondering in terms of accessibility for welding, as I can't...

    Locking wheel bolt removal

My brother has had a bit of a problem with his Mk4 Golf locking wheel nuts, so looking for a bit of advice. Below is a post on a VW forum earlier. If anyone has any experience of this/any advice it really would be massively appreciated.

2000 mile Epic Scottish Highland Roadtrip!

Awesome pics! Some of the pictures in Skye are a mile or two from my family home turf, up at the north end - brilliant place. I'm off to Skye, Lewis and Harris camping with a few mates in a couple of weeks - can't wait atm tbh.

    bluetooth PARROT

You seem pretty clued up on these mate, and I see your in Edinburgh, got a quick question. I've got a CK3000 but since getting my new phone (T-Mobile G1) there is a delay in it pairing. With my old phone it would pair straight away when the ignition was switched on, but with this one it...

    Acer Laptops - Reliability/Warranty?

I went for a dell system in the end, will wait and see but think I'll be more than happy with it. Thanks for the input folks.

    Acer Laptops - Reliability/Warranty?

How was the process in getting a replacement? As I say warranty is my main concern. Every laptop I've had in the past has needed some warranty work so I always try and have a look at how they are for this before buying, but Acer just seem to be crap from that point of view from what I have...

    Acer Laptops - Reliability/Warranty?

Had a look at a few toshiba/compaq ones but I can get a better spec'd Dell system for the same price and as I've had Dell before I'm inclined to go that way.

    Acer Laptops - Reliability/Warranty?

Thanks folks. That's the thing, everyone I know who has had an Acer has said they are fine/not had a problem but I'm really put off by their after-sales etc. Any more opinions welcome, hoping to buy one or the other tomorrow before VAT jumps up again.

    Acer Laptops - Reliability/Warranty?

I'm guessing a few users on here will have acer laptops, if so how have they been in terms of reliability and how long have you had them? I've read some really mixed views on Acer laptops so not sure what viewpoint to take. Also, if anyone has had warranty work done how was the...

    Laptop Opinions/suggestions

I'm looking to get a new laptop, got in the region of £500 to spend. Tend not to use it for anything too intensive but hoping to keep it for a while so would like a good spec. Had a browse around the shops last night and reckon the sort of spec I would like is: 4GB Ram 2.1/2 GHz Intel...

    no drive? clutch gearbox?

What Martin said! I've seen mixed stories of them being welded, but to save on the hassle and risk of it continually going I would get another box put in there. It might depend if you are doing the work yourself though and how much you are willing to pay.

Scottish Rolling Road - At Falkland

Just spotted this. I've got football on the 21st, but if my game gets called off I'll just turn up on the day if thats ok? Tbh its unlikely to happen as we pretty much play in any weather but I am quite keen to get the Integra on the rollers.

Blowing Exhaust MOT fail?? FAO MOT Testers

Cheers guys, I'll hope for the best in that case. Yeah, checked all the usual culprits and topped up all the fluids. Gave the car a good look over today and I think that the exhaust is the main thing worrying me, haven't noticed anything else - but don't want to temp fate by saying...

Blowing Exhaust MOT fail?? FAO MOT Testers

I've got the teg booked in for its MOT tomorrow morning. I re-fitted the CAT today, but it's blowing a bit at the join between the manifold and CAT. It seems to be fine when idling, but as its a sprung joint when you rev the engine it tilts and opens up a gap causing the slight blow at the...

    mid engine club at work

Awesome! Would love to own a Vtec'd mini. Surely the effect would be the other way around and the speed in any gear at particular rev's would be lower due to the smaller wheel? Unless it's running a totally different gearbox with some crazy ratios can't see it doing 70 in first!
