I did it on a brand new mini cooper s and it pushed me over the bhp limit for a seasonal event
Lol, I just did exactly the same with the Focus ST.
I take it there's no way of knocking it back down again? Gonna have to buy another one I think......

Trying to use the 69' GT40 race car now. It takes 4th place from the start but falls back to 7th by the first corner where it stays.

concerning the seasonal events :
you must be very careful when buying a new car and the mods you do to it as the events are very strict 1bhp over and your f**ked. NEVER do an oil change as 9/10 times it will put you over the bhp limit, from memory the mini comes with 167bhp new so just go to the tuning shop and add either a sport inlet, airfilter, decat or manifold basically anything that takes you to the 172bhp limit. same goes with weight think its 1210kg so plastic windows will see you at 1200kg limit. same rules apply for most of the seasonal events
oh forgot to add its a good idea to mod all the other bits that don't effect power so suspension, transmission, lsd's etc etc just NOT weight and power...

However!
If you take the Mini and lower the transmission to a lower speed, which you will need to do in any case, it will decrease the BHP which allows you to add more performance parts to boost the power back up again. Just choose the parts wisely as some can't be removed.

Right, I don't know if it's the PS3 or the copy of GT5 I have, but when I load it up it says it's accessing information from my HD press ok. I press ok and it just goers to a black screen, doesn't load any further. However, if I press O when it asks me to press X at that point, it loads fine. WTF? I'm coming from just playing Xbox and it seems like the PS3 is really glitchy :S

Thats wrong, fitting the transmission does not lower power it lowers possible speed but increases acceleration or vice versa. with or without the transmission the car/engine is 167bhp std

Veyron is piss poor it should be made by the Americans it's that bad at cornering all speed and no cornering. I've done loads of b-spec now got the zonda yesterday.
Oh has anybody whatched any GT-TV? I watched the 24h ring vids (there's two) they were alright to watch but you soon realise why it took so b*****d long for the game to come out because the manager was out all the time pissin about.

Worked on the Mini for me, il try and get pics tonight.
It didn't work on the fiat 500 when I tried that but it did work on the Mini.
Golded nearly all of b spec, now.and have stopped at level 30. Yesterday I started to play the game properly.with the DFGT wheel. Golded most of the nascar challenges, so much easier with a wheel. But feck me that top gear lotus challenge is impossible! Can't even drive it it in a straight line!

It's a pain in the arse that one. Took me ages to get gold.
But you do get used to the cars handling after a while, you have to seriously pedal that car to complete it.

I could only manage Silver on that... It got to the point where I was about ripping my hair out to even finish the race!
that lotus challenge is the only time i had to out on the anti skid aid, the rest of the time i have everything off but f**k me the lotus drive3 like they are on ice.
