Opened the bonnet tonight to stick the green cone filter and SFS induction hose on and I saw this :S:

I had the N/S replaced 3 months ago before I started driving the BMW round. This was given the all clear by the MOT at the time so I didn't bother replacing it although I've read its better to replace both at the same time!!

No idea how long it's been like it! (Car's on 81,180 miles roughly)

Safe to drive to work?

that looks about normal mate. turn your engine on and turn the steering wheel and you'll see it move. dont panic!!

If its tight and the wheels are turned in that picture, I wouldn't worry.

If its loose and your wheels are straight, worry.

Hmm only just paid out for the NS one to be replaced, that was costly as it was! ;)

lol top mounts move around depending on wheel position, so when on lock they will look funny

Seems logical to be told this now! Scared myself earlier! Not mechanically minded FTL...
