Water dripping behind door card clio 182

  Clio 182 ff
I've had the door cards off the last few days whilst my new speakers came, I've noticed today whilst it was raining and the windows were up a lot of dripping from the bottom of the passenger glass and a smaller amount from the driver side. I know its normal to get some water as it's got the drain holes down there but I wanted to know how much should be dripping if any? I have also noticed when outside the car I can press the bottom of the glass and it moves a bit thanks in advance

I have this on my passenger side, it gets into the speaker connections causing them to corrode. When I hose my car off I can hear it running and dripping inside the door card.

Mine hasn't done that yet, I was thinking about changing the window rubber to see if that helps things

Yeah thanks for that, I wasnt convinced until I ran a hose over it and heard the dripping and water running over the inner door seal
Daft door card design.

Most cars have a cover of some kind metal or plastic were as Renault thought it would be great to use the door card as the seal. 🤪

I'm sure they're meant to have a plastic sheet inside the door aren't they?

I thought that but the way the card is moulded it goes in the door hence the reason if it's not sealed drips in the car.

All doors have a weather membrane and all doors leak water past the outer scraper seals into the bottom of the door. You can change the seals as many times as you like it will just be a waste of money. These are 15+ year old cars and everyman and his dog will have been inside the door at somepoint, removed the door membrane and probably ripped it so not put it back on.

Nice to know, I'll seal I'll back up and see as soon as the weather clears up

Hence the black sealant like most other doors don't have.
It seals the door, Google Clio door membrane you'll have more chance finding a hen with teeth.

I used instant gasket incase it needs to come back off.
Using silicone you might not get the door card back off without damaging it

I siliconed mine in desperation, I'll just slide a plastic scraper or something between them if it wont come apart.

The only issue I have now is when I had a speaker out that had got wet from the above issue, water is sitting between the door and door card in the watertight pocket I've now created

Small hole near the speaker would allow to drain back into door and would prevent speaker getting wet.

Oh god, I'm going to follow the old sealant to try to avoid this. I've put in 16cm speakers so had to remove the old rain cover so I made a new one to cover the speaker a lot better
