Looking good Mark. Can't wait to see the pics of it finished and back out on the streets.

I'll be sure to post up loads beforehand most definitely afterwards too!

Give you 2k for it

Hmmmm, I'm contemplating it.

More done on the RB. Starting to take shape now.

Few more pics of the wiper delete from Kill all wipers. I really like it.

This means that my painted wiper delete will be up for sale.

New plain number plates turned up from Fancy Plates. Rear is perfect but the front is wrong. I asked for 94mm high and i got sent 85mm high, like my old one. Not happy as 85mm doesn't fill the recess, 94mm does. I've tried calling them but get no answer and i've sent them an email, to which i got no response. I didn't even get a email confirmation when i ordered. Hopefully they will have seen my issue email and rectified it. @182_steve did you have any issues when you did yours with them?

Stayed late friday and did more bits.

Gave the rear lights a quick polish up with the mop. These were in good condition but a little spruce up wouldn't hurt, especially next to new paint.

Unpolished on the left vs polished on the right. It actually has cleaned them up more than i thought. They look deeper and have more clarity now. Was worth doing i think for what time it took. You can see the difference on the tops with the left ones looking a tad dull compared to the right ones.

While in light mode, i changed the the xenon bulbs that i got off @Craig on the headlamps. You can see upon comparison that the glass looks cleaner and has more clarity on the new ones compares to the old ones on the left. The new Ring ones are longer too, although i don't know if this makes a difference? Nice easy job, made easier when the headlamps are off the car.

Cleaned lights lineup.

44388582505_5a8f513ecd_z.jpg

While i was doing that, Will was continuing to do the cutting/polishing.

45300720161_e1a93a855f_z.jpg

Painted the new fuel pipe/hinge/thingy! (dont know what its called!) The old one is blue but this just looks like overspray from the cap. We used the last of the blue when we did the last bits of painting, so we decided to use black as it ties in with the fuel lock and surround. TBH you dont see it when the cap is shut, and although i was unsure at first, it looks better than i thought so i'll stick with it. I used a bit of ali strip to wedge up the spring so i could paint as much as possible, so i had no beige plastic showing.

43485329340_eda69f9d0c_z.jpg

We had a stop break and ate some much needed food. Burgers with gherkins, red onions and melted cheese, with onion rings and fresh orange juice! Was sooo good!

44585732624_7af609002e_z.jpg

After that we went back to it. I started fitting the fuel bits up and tidied up the workshop, while Will continued the polishing.

43485419350_8204559e61_z.jpg

I will clean up the rear of the cap next week.

Sides, boot and spoiler all polished!

We both came in on saturday to continued the work and @MrBlonde came down to do a few bits on his car and help us out too on bits.

Will polished the front bumper and i did cleaning bits ready to fit up. He then moved onto polishing the bonnet while i did the bumper work.

Washer blanks fitted

31426885568_52693f82ea_z.jpg

30361354827_1dba918ed4_z.jpg

New fabia splitter fitted. I though about riveting it, but decided on using self tappers just incase it needs to be removed.

44388439615_cdfd8fb02d_z.jpg

30361373077_5a99e924eb_z.jpg

Go the bumper stickers fitted. Got Will to do it as he has a steadier hand than me. The insert was degreased before the sticker was applied. They are not exactly cut to shape, but will be fine once the car is outside. This was the best option as renault dont sell them anymore and they still look decent and OE.

Then the lower grill and badge was cleaned and fitted along with the new upper grill.

I might get a new lower grill soon. I was going to GTechniq all the plastics at a later date but unsure if the lower grill will come up decent? But that can wait for now.

Gave the front end a clean up to remove all the old wet and dry residue and old polish and then we was ready to fit the headlights and front bumper. Headlights was plugged in and fitted and we fitted the front bumper but then we realised that we forgot to fit the bumper protection pads so it had to be removed, pads fitted and then the bumper refitted!

Was very happy to see this at this point! After that we did a little bit more then called it for the day. Scuttle panels cleaned. Cleaned up the scuttle area also to remove old residue and fitted them up with new clips. We noticed that i was missing one clip. I'm unsure if it ever had one on the drivers side so we took one off the passenger side and fitted it where it was missing. Thankfully the wipers hold it all done anyway.

45300678151_e0524304e9_z.jpg

Wipers was fitted and lights/wipers tested and all is good. Refitted all the washer pipes and jets. Then we gave the RB a quick wipe down and we was done. I cleaned out the booth then got some pics!

That looks stunning. That is by far the cleanest RB I've seen. Great work mate ?

Fantastic work Mark, this is getting really close now :D

Re. the plates I didn't get an email confirmation or invoice either which was poor and really pee'd me off as I wanted it for the file, I had to just print out the order screen at the end of the order if that makes sense? No invoice anyway - more importantly, I can't believe that with the size!! I got mine through, exactly as I ordered them mate at 94mm with no issues. Any email back yet? I would be angry at that as that's waaay smaller than you spec'd

Thanks Steve. Yes it certainly is. Few more evenings after work and it should be done.

Yes, i should have printed off the order screen too but clicked off it as i thought i'd get a email regarding the order but nothing. I cant even go into my order history as there is no setting for that, or no email to check my order so i'm kinda screwed. I was hoping that i'd get 94mm but i knew as soon as i opened up the jiffy envelope that it was wrong. Disappointing as it was the last piece to finish off the front end.

No email return as of yet. Delivery too 6 days too? Seems a lot for £7 delivery? Call just goes through. Didn't try today, but will try again tomorrow. Will send them another email if i haven't heard back mid week.

No something's up there if it's taken 6 days to get them AND they are wrong, that's one thing I have to say for them, they send them out same day (ish) depending on when you order them on the work day - I know I had them very quickly and have a set on the Clio AND my Lexus daily

Hmm, hopefully they have got my email request and are sending out the replacement then. Will give it a few days then re-email them. I did think it was odd when it says on the site that it takes 48 hours to deliver.

To combat credit card fraud, Hermes drivers are instructed to be aware of unlikely delivery details.

I pulled five parcels from Next addressed to M`s Componentsolid this week.

More done.

Door handles all built up and refitted. I somehow deleted my pics of the stripping down so it was a bit of a guess but sorted it in the end.

Found this beast in the boot when removing parts:

44444229295_49c83eca85_z.jpg

Ain't going to lie, i s**t myself. I hate spiders and this thing was huge! Unfortunately as much as we braved it trying to remove it, it snuck away down the rear seat belt panels and now is lurking deep down in somewhere unknown. Im now wary everytime i look in the car!

Painted my center caps. Still not a colour match (they look a little creamy, but fitted they dont look as bad as the picture makes them out to be, which you can see on the shadow on the top) but i will fit them for now and try and find out a closer match later on.

Bootlight refitted to the spoiler and the spoiler all plugged in and refitted. I bought some new button head bolts as the old ones where manky. I also used some new penny washers to replace the old ones. I may get some slightly smaller ones at a later date as these look a bit big, but will do for now.

Boot panel all refitted

31483154418_d9c4bb8072_z.jpg

Then got the door rubbers refitted. Drivers side went on lovely, but the passenger side has a slight kink in when we fitted it. Not a major issue as it all back as it should, but i'll source another one anyway.

44634751434_d5ee14d71c_z.jpg

All the door electrics, speakers, handles and cards all refitted. Needs a good clean mind, where they've been sat for weeks! Will do that next week i think along with the rest of the interior.

Left it like this last night

30418712847_3c6d96fce4_z.jpg

Tonight, more was done. Cut out some rubber and stuck it on the rear bumper to act as a buffer against the rear arch. Should help it rub less.

43553801810_535dc1838f_z.jpg

44456147955_011b1e2156_z.jpg

Fitted the new rear number plate bulb hold i bought ages ago, along with the led bulb from my old unit.

Old above the new fitted one

43553850630_015320286d_z.jpg

The side mouldings was polished and fitted along with my iceberg silver bullets. When i did my "old" ones Nissan Techno Grey, i really like the look of them. Will said i should do my "new" ones silver but i was unsure. I took he's advice and glad i did. I think they look great and fresh next to the new paint. They look nice with the white wheels too so a good choice i think.

45319799282_470d902f4f_z.jpg

45370765391_bb7ff3b7e6_z.jpg

Fitted the new fuel stem and cap. I like the black and dont think it looks out of place. The back of the cap will be touched up, but not to much as it rubs, hence the paint missing. Will clean up the dirt too so its all clean inside. As i mentioned, the stickers are no longer available and this is the main reason i decided to keep this cap. All im missing is the 2x rubber stoppers. Need to look into getting some but don't know where i can get them from. Any suggestions welcome.

30430810787_0ecb3c2e3b_z.jpg

30430808297_98a4ae57ec_z.jpg

Starting to really take shape now. Hopefully the last bit of fitting up tomorrow and then a final polish (we bought some sonax stuff which is meant to be decent) and clean of wheels, rubbers, seals, etc and then hopefully it'll be driven home for the weeknd.

That's all for now but will keep you all posted ?

  A terrible one
Yes yes yes yes yes yes and finally YES!

So much awesomeness. Looks brand new!

Think the colour choice on the bullets is spot on. Silver works perfectly and iceberg silver is a great colour. Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

Wow! Huge lot of love coming from you guys! Its always nice to read positive comments and kind words, so thank you all for doing that.

I got excited and wanted to drive it home, hence the short post, but i'll backtrack from the last update to continue here now.

So with the main body panels back on, the car was polished with the finer stuff. We used Sonax with my new DA and it looks good.

I replaced the drivers side wing mirror clip housing to replace the old one i broke when i stripped it.

43619161160_3f977c3df1_z.jpg

After that, the wing mirrors was fully fitted, including being plugged in and the newly painted caps fitted.

The next day my new plates arrived. I ended up ordering from someone else as Fancy Plates not only didn't get back to me via email or call, and they didn't send me the correct size after they fucked up my order. Really disappointed with them as thats bad service. Admittedly, this one isn't as good quality as the Fancy Plates ones, but it is the right size of what i wanted and i just wanted to fit them. The service from the guy was spot on. He asked me the size i wanted the writing and even gave me a preview of how i would look before i bought it.

Stayed on after work and did the last of the big final fit. New plates fitted front and rear, with velcro coins.

Then gave the inner arches a clean

43619516430_dcd9b21698_z.jpg

Touched up the side skirt rivets in RB so that they blend in with the side skirts

45384981982_a728c62922_z.jpg

45384989622_eb4ca809da_z.jpg

Fitted the inner arches with new inner arch screws and push clips. Got a bit confused on how one of the spire clips went on but after a quick few messages to @Louis and replies from the facebook group, i figured it out. It was such a simple thing, but for some reason it baffled me. Guess the late nights are catching up!

44521864025_cf1c138194_z.jpg

Gave the wheels a clean and fitted my new valve caps as i lost one of the visors on one f the old ones. Plus i wanted new caps seen as i've just had new paint!

Then i was ready to drive it home. Got the car out, cleaned the workshop and headed home.

45436985011_767d4a063d_z.jpg

After driving Emily's car for so long (think its been 10 weeks since i started the refresh) i forgot how different the clio feels. Its stiff, heavy, low, loud, rattly, etc but i have missed it. Having done this work makes me realise that i love this little car!

I've got more to do still on the bodywork. I've still got to fit my new 197 Renault Sport badge, fit the kick plates, clean the rear window seals, another polish and give it a major interior clean as there is dust everywhere! But at least its now driveable and certainly looking fresh!
