My Saxo History

Was going through some old pics and found a few of my old saxos.

I’ve got none of my first which was a facelift VTR but have managed to find some of the rest.

My first vts was this mk1 amazon which I bought for £750. I ‘stripped’ it, stuck some buckets in, a pro comp filter (which I bought off waitey) and a magnex and sold it to some chav who couldn’t get insurance.



Second was the silver vts - got this for £2300 and only bought it for the engine which was a high spec forged and bodied number that went in my Rallye and the lsd gearbox which went to my mate. Ended up selling the car for £800 and was eventually broken by Phil off here!



Third one was the turbo charged number. ‘Twas a s**t build by the previous owner and I ended up losing a fortune before passing it onto Phil who’s still got it!



Next was the best of the bunch - the charged mk1 vts. 240bhp at the wheels and the ultimate spec. Bought it for 5k and sold it for 5.5k. Awesome motor!



And now I’m on the track slag which I’m slowly falling in love with! Just something clicks between me and these cars I guess!

Saxo VTS/106 GTI were my absolute dream cars when I was learning to drive...

Closest I got at the time was a 106 1.1 ‘Independence’ in moonstone blue ?

Your Saxo collection over the years is pretty epic though..

Can't tell you how close I was back in the day to buying a gold vts, like paperwork drawn up close!

I ended up buying a naples red 16v instead, I think I was always going to end up in that but it was close!

I got myself a 53 plate black vtr as my second car. It was faultless for the 3 years I owned it. Heavy on fuel mind but I still regret selling it to this day

Here’s a picture of my GTi on satchels GSXR ITB’s and Sandy brown loom, DTA S40 management.

I had a disagreement with a tyre wall though.

Looks good even with the damage.

Battle scars give it character.

All black with scars. Hard as.

As my username suggests I loved my VTS. Only had one but still have fond memories of them.

The damage has kinda grown on me! Almost broke it for parts a few times but I’m back on track Saturday for time in nearly 18 months!

The 106/saxo’s have a certain character about them.

Nope haha. The loom and ecu would need changing too, but then the car would be pointless haha!

I’ve got the ecu. Just trying to find the bodies but they seem to be commanding a premium at the moment!

I paid top dollar for mine over 2 years ago but arguably the best set up.

What bodies are you looking for? If I see any I’ll PM you

AT power, jenvey, satchell - just don’t want any of the pikey set ups.

my dream car when I was 14/15/16, loved the 2 tone ones!

I’ll see what I come across, I seen a set earlier but had silicone joiners haha!

What ecu have you got? Predator?
