Maybe branching out and employing not so great staff has done zero favours

Unfortunately you're not the only person I've seen have this trouble with renparts. They sound well shady.

Because I only ever buy new parts for my car where I can, I've never bought anything like this before in this way for the Clio so had no idea........ it's just so frustrating, as buying the box from Renparts so quickly made me stop my search there and then, yet a week later i'm no further forward. Could have got another one sorted by now!! I'm just lucky the garage isn't chasing me (yet!) otherwise I've no idea what i'd do!

Exactly bud, just literally at the mercy of them sending it when they feel like it, nothing I can do!
 
You need to share your experience on the Facebook group mate. People should be spared this level of incompetence as much as possible.

I know what you mean mate, it just goes on and on and I've never had service like it.............. the latest chapter in the on-going saga is that I phoned them this morning, right on 9am when they opened. Got the same bloke I spoke to on Tuesday (who told me it would be sent that day, for delivery Wednesday or Thursday at the latest which was already 3 days late) and I went straight into how it still hadn't arrived etc, trying to not kick off. He said he'd look into it and call me right back.... just shy of 2 hours later, nothing, so I was back on the phone. As soon as he answered the phone I just launched straight in "i'm still chasing this gearbox and have been waiting TWO hours for a call back!!" Sorry he said, they were really busy....... I just stayed silent as it's just beyond belief..... he put me on hold while he "got the screen up" which must have been on dial up or something as it took him just over 5 minutes!

When the mind numbing hold music finally finished, I get a girl's voice come on the phone, the bloke has obviously thought i'm not dealing with him and passed it on. But this was the girl I originally put the order in with last Thursday night so at least she knew my story. She kept apologising and couldn't believe no one had kept me updated, which is when I almost lost it but remembered I was talking to a girl and kept it polite. Stated how I've had no phone calls, no emails, have to contently keep chasing it, my car has now been on a ramp up in the air for 8 days etc etc and the grief this is causing me. She then told me that the Clio they had in and I was going to have the box out of, upon inspection, was a different gearbox and actually a Scenic one and this is why it wasn't sent. It went on and I was told they have no others in at the mo but at that point, I didn't give a f**k just said JUST REFUND ME AND CANCEL THE ORDER!!

Crap.......... now I have no box and have lost a whole week :triumph: . I'm so lucky the local Renault and especially the lady on the service desk are so understanding and nice about this, i really appreciate it and don't know what i'd do if the ramp was needed. Anyway, wanted to get on it getting another but we've been so busy at work today I just couldn't do anything about it!

So then late afternoon the phone rings..... Renparts! I almost didn't answer as I couldn't deal with the bullsh*t but thought no, let's hear it. It was the girl again, saying she's been on a mission all afternoon trying to source me one due to what's happened bla bla bla and she could guarantee, yes guarantee delivery of one for Tuesday. So I've grudgingly said yes in the hope it finally comes and it was apparently coming to them late today. I'll be perusing a partial refund at the very least for this debacle but that will be in written form, later on. For now, I just want what I've paid for!

I pretty much could've driven down to yours with all the stuff I need in the car and rebuilt your original box in less time than it's taken them bell ends to send it out!! And that would include the time it takes for parts to arrive from renault! Lol

I screen shot this so when my box s***s itself I can contact you an you can rebuild it with a diff haha

They're literal Muppets. It's pathetic they're not responding to emails or phone calls. If they just told you what happened in the first place then you could have made accommodation to sorting it out in a different method.

That is just awesome 😂 would take me 7 minutes to work out where to start!
I think it was done as I was due out on the piss and had 20 minutes to get the box apart and ready to go out! My mates said it couldn't be done...........

Steve you’re more patient and forgiving than me.
Used them once and the part they sent was useless - secondhand is fine, used, dirty and barely functioning is pointless. Didn’t bother contacting them as I’ll simply take my business elsewhere.
Hope you get it sorted!

Thanks Andy! That sounds like shocking service yet again, for something small, i'd be just the same - throw it in the bin and walk away muttering. But the more I read and hear about them, I really am getting a bit nervous now that the box that eventually does turn up is going to be a load of crap. Fingers firmly crossed!
 
Exciting news regarding the gearbox fiasco, I was absolutely guaranteed it would be delivered to the local Renault where the car still is today, Tuesday, day 12 of the car being up on the workshop ramp (after i phoned up and made clear my thoughts and frustration with the matter last Friday). Today has been and gone, no gearbox delivery. Seriously. So was straight back on the phone (just before they closed) to ask what could have possibly gone wrong. Maybe the poor carrier pigeon with a gearbox on it’s back flew in the wrong direction? Anyway, i'm told it’s 100% on the way and definatly left their premises yesterday. They are not happy with the courier company, the manager at Renparts nearly flipped her desk over when the guy on the phone told her while i was on hold. Again. Apparently they ran out of time and didn’t deliver my item which now makes it one of the first to deliver in the morning, a day late. When it’s already eight days late now. So will it turn up tomorrow? We shall see....... things like this happened in my old job regarding big item deliveries so isn’t quite as crazy as it seems, but with previous experience so far, who knows! 😊

What an absolute nightmare! Sucks to be without your car for so long, never mind it being stuck on the garage’s ramp! Would be certainly asking for some serious compensation in one form or another. Keep us updated.

Totally! Luckily it's not a daily car, if it was, don't know what i'd have done...... I didn't even mention compensation or partial refund today, kept it chilled, that will be done in writing you see when the delivery issue is resolved and the car is back. I think around the 10/20% mark and ALL delivery charges is fair considering what a balls up it's all been, this is what I shall be asking for anyway. But for now, just want the car back!

Amazing! You could have had your box refurbished, gold plated and marinaded in unicorn spunk in that time. If I had access to a van I would have collected it for you and delivered it for a few quid. Don't use them again us my advice [emoji23]
 
So today has been and gone and my gearbox is STILL not there. This is just beyond belief. The almost cast iron assurance it would be there today is just utter and total bo**ocks, promised delivery date after delivery date comes and goes and it never happens. So that's it now, they've had it. 13 days my car has now been on a ramp, 10 of which purely thanks to these useless clowns!!!

On a positive note however, thanks to the kindness of a friend (and previous owner of my car!) I have sourced another. He has two Clio's, one bought for parts and another being made into a track car and he and his Dad are very kindly taking the box out of the 'spares' car tonight, for me to collect and pay for tomorrow and take straight to Renault. The box wasn't available with no intention to sell, but he saw the grief I was having and said he'd sell it to me. Total legend!

As for Renparts.................. I wouldn't want to be the person who answers that phone tomorrow.
 
The gearbox is out of the car and should be ready for collection in about an hour, total stars and they were working until gone 11pm last night, after being at work all day, to get it out for me - so hopefully I can get it over to the local Renault by 10am to maybe, possibly, in theory get my car back today as previously arranged.......... I absolutely hate rushing around like this at the last minute, not how I work, but huge thanks to my mate for doing this for me, also at the last minute!! :up:
 
Well it's official, the gearbox fiasco has finally been resolved - but only due to the legend that is my mate and his Dad sorting me out with that last minute replacement. I did indeed collect it this morning (they wouldn't even take an extra tenner each for all their trouble even though I insisted!) and took it straight to the garage for fitting when they can.

Renparts however? Well, maybe that gearbox ended up in the Scottish Highlands or maybe even Santa's grotto? Either way, it still was never received despite the guaranteed delivery dates here there and everywhere and will now be refused if it ever turns up. Long story short, I've had a lengthy phone call with the Renparts manager this morning who has now refunded my payment in full and another 10% on top for the inconvenience. A phone call helped along by @Louis thanks buddy. Total balls up from the start, solely due to that company and their delivery promises but at least it's sorted. Worse things going on in the world of course, just very frustrating!

Now let's get the car back soon and get this thread back on track, what's the next mod? Ummmm...........

Also good news about the refund, however I think the only way I'd be happy with the extra 10% is if I'd paid £5000 for the box in the first place though. I'd have tried charging them time for the garage's lost labour (as it's been stuck on their ramp). Then again, there's a chance they've been reading every post on here, so they probably know that's not particularly true haha.

Dont quote me on this but i dont think they have the cars on the shelf as readily as they say.
I think they wait til one comes in and then send the parts out, in the mean time just fobbing off the customer with false promise's.
I had the identical treatment mate, with my car off the road for 5 weeks :(

P.S the b******s never gave me extra monies :(
