Potentially a blocked cat or something else! Although it's been known main dealers aren't always best at the jobs on these cars. Hope you sort it Andy.

Invoice is north of £750....
I'm hoping it's either a) a simple and cheap fix (famous last words!!) or b) something I can sort myself like the cat or plugs etc.
Anyhoo I'm not losing sleep - the positive is that the car feels strong and quick as is so my thinking is that once the missing 30 horsepowers are rounded up, she'll fly like a b*****d :D

Today was a good day.
Headed down to Rentech. Mike lent me a little 1.2 to smoke around in and while he investigated, I subjected myself to Ikea during half term..
Anyway, timing was 6-8 degrees out, the main dealer had managed not to fit an oil seal to the dephaser and the cat's buggered. Mike fixed everything bar the cat and for less than £165.
Result is linear power all the way to the limiter, much smoother throughout and pulling like a b**ch. Not sure how many missing horsepowers were rounded up but my guess is quite a few.
Just need to decide now whether to replace the cat or go 182 manifold and decat but I'm really, really pleased - car now drives properly hard and is transformed.

Winter wash today as she’s getting put away for a bit to keep the salt away. Used a new ceramic top coat which we’ll be selling shortly, Gtechniq G5 on the glass and she’s looking ok.
I managed to get most of the stuff I wanted to do sorted this year - steering wheel, scenic shifter and lower seat. Still need a better seating position so that’s a goal for 2018. The RR session also helped me establish a base point for the car so I can think about some more mods next year too.

  Hi comp phase 1
I’m sure I saw you parked up at B and Q last week or so.
The pictures don’t do justice on how clean this car is.
Looks Amazing! Hats off to you.

Quite possibly - think I parked near the entrance to avoid the inevitable swinging door cretins lol.
She’s got a fair few scars here and there and the offside rear quarter needs paint too.

Last one of 2017. I’ve managed to sort some of the stuff I wanted to but for 2018 I need to get the exhaust off and put something not bodged together on there. Still need to find a decent seat or pair to sort the driving position and I’m still wanting to paint a fair bit of the car to get it just right. Photos have always flattered this car - it’s nowhere near as good in the metal!!!

So we’re almost into March and I’ve done bugger all with the car other than a few drives into work. Caught this photo last weekend after a quick wash to remove the salt and try some new goodies at work. Really need to get my arse in gear and start some projects on it but manic and not feeling like working on any cars at the weekends.
I do however need to sort the front jacking points as they’re fecked. Properly.

What a lovely car Andy, real credit to you. Looks so clean and fresh. Look forward to seeing what this year brings.

Just read the entire thread with a nice big cuppa, and kiddos to you man. You've turned what seemed to be a pretty average/boring looking clio to something very clean and much better performing. That's sort of the goal with me once I find a Clio I like haha.

Loving the attention to detail, keep it up!

Update on the other car.
I decided to hang onto my Saab as it’s reasonably quick, paid for and I don’t want a big finance payment every month on something new which is losing value.
H&R springs, new top mounts, 2 tyres and a fresh MOT and I’m reasonably happy. Still some tweaks and the exhaust needs toning down as it drones like a b*****d at motorway speeds.
Clio getting some bits next month...

Small update...
If you’ve ever been to a Goodwood event you’ll have heard this chap’s enthusiastic commentary. Sadly he’s no longer with us :(

Love a parcel arriving.
Decat landed today - car booked in for MOT and getting this mated to a custom built system out to the tailpipe ah the same time.
Once that’s done, seats!!

For once I had a quiet day at work so after finishing the Golf GTI at the back of the shop, I washed my business partner’s RS as part of some promo photos for some new towels and brushes we’re stocking and then gave the Clio some TLC. Wash, Zaino Z5/Z8 and re-dressed the tyres with my go to summer dressing and all good.
As a side note, Gtechniq T1 needed Preptone (solvent based cleaner) to fully remove - it’s that durable!
