Hi. Could you tell about scenic gearshift convercion?
Hi mate, sorry for the late reply. The Scenic gear conversion is just a Renault scenic gear shifter with a short shift attached. It is basically a cheapskate version of the Pure Motorsport part. I personally really like it as it preserves the original shifters mannerisms with a longer reach. I'm sure the Pure Motorsport one is amazing but for the price I paid I can't complain to be honest.

Update:

So it’s been around 6 months since I posted and in that time I have built up quite a collection of parts to go on the car. I wanted to completely overhaul the suspension. 2 reasons with the the first being i’m OCD and wanted it to look shiny fresh under there and secondly I wanted to try some trackdays this year.

So this is the list of bits I had accumulated:

BC Racing DR coilovers with custom spring rates. I went for 6kg front 8kg rear as wanted to keep the road biased focus and not make it too crashy. I also specced them with the adjustable top mounts.

PMS 19mm rear ARB. Toyed with the Whilteline but I liked the superior quality of the Pure version.

@NorthloopCup Roll Centre Correction Hubs. I’m really looking forward to seeing the difference these make.

Other bits: OEM Cup wishbones, Powerflex rear beam bushes, OEM front ARB bushes, Powerflex SMI rack bush, inner track rods.

Dropped the car off with the good mate Dean and he has been sending me pictures throughout the build.

Car up on axle stands with the subrame and rear beam removed. I also wanted everything either painted or powder coated so this is the subframe before and after:

And after:

Toyed with the idea of having it black but wanted a bit of a contrast with the rest of the bits so decided on the subframe and rear beam in anthracite. Here is the rear beam before and after:

Few more pics before it all got put back onto the car:

So yesterday it went for 3D laser alignment. Went for 2 degrees of Negative camber at the front and 14 minutes of toe total. Here it is on the ramp:

So.....get it back today. Dean is driving it over from Tamworth where his workshop is based. To say i’m excited to drive it is an understatement. Yesterday was like Christmas Eve. Here is the car how it sits:

Lovely work you've had done there. The power coated stuff looks great!

Will be like a new car when you drive it.

Thanks mate. Appreciate it. At least now I maybe able to have my own car as my wallpaper on my IPad rather than having yours on there constantly. Ha ha

Honestly i’m Like those kids in the Disney advert. Sooo excited!!!!

No worries @Dr Jekyll I love RB’s and yours is by far the nicest I have seen. I’d love to you take some photos of my car at some point mate.

It will be arriving this afternoon. I live out in the country so Dean is going to take me out in it to show me what’s what round some country lanes. Need to go shopping with the other half first so i’ll be champing at thebit when I get back.

Just a quick petrol station photo just before I got tannoyed to put my phone away :eek:penmouth:

Car feels epic on the road. So planted with the ride as compliant as before. May need to drop the front spacers as they are rubbing a tad. Just need to see if TPI do longer polarised bolts. The 5mm spacers I bought made the front look gash so will need a rethink. The dampers are set to half front and back and that is great on the road. Will try full soft next weekend to see the difference.

Will definitely be booking a track day soon as I want to see what it’s like when you can really give it the beans.

What colour are your 2118’s,i thought they were dark grey but in your latest photo they look more silver?

They’re shadow chrome with more silver added. They look silver in most lights mate. I’ve also added the speedline corse stickers in blue to them recently

The speedline stickers in blue sound a nice touch, be interested to see the photo close up!
Yeah i’ve had them for ages and debated whether I should put them on or not. They look pretty good to be honest. Contrast nicely with the polarised bolts. I’ll put up a photo later in the week.

On day off today so thought i’d get her out the garage and take a few pics. I’m going to try my PMS 5mm spacers today to see the difference as the current 25mm ones are rubbing a little on lock. Does anyone know the smallest bolt to hub spacers you can get so i can keep my polarised bolts. I have read 16mm but can’t find any for sale....

Anyway some pics:

I’ll post another up later on with the smaller spacers on to see the difference. @MrBlonde - the wheels pictures you requested are above.

Thanks mate. Just some Wilwood 4 pots and a Quaife Diff now mate. Then it’s done and I can just enjoy driving it. I toyed with putting a stronger head gasket in and having a bit more boost to put it up to 270 ish bhp but to be honest it is fast enough for the chassis as it is now.

I would also love to start powdercoating bits in the engine bay as it looks a bit tired. It’ll be too good to drive soon. May as well donate it to a museum ha ha

One thing if I may ? Do the brake calipers silver, they'll look nicer then & I'll like it even more

I may look at Sliver for the Wilwoods when I get them but then they wouldn’t stand out..... appreciate the feedback though bud
