... F30 340i M-Sport+

So, on Monday the 8th of Jan I went to Williams Liverpool to pick up my new baby... BMW F30 340i M Sport+ in Glacier Silver.

I only seen the car on the off chance when bored on my lunch just before Christmas. So on Christmas Eve me and my Dad thought we'd go to Liverpool for a nosey as we do from time to time, plus its free brew and cake, who doesn't like free cake and coffee? Sadly BMW was closed but we still had a mooch around the 340 while we were there. A few days later we headed back for a proper look around the car and had a chat about the car, discussed prices and took it for a test drive that exhaust is a tad addictive. I fell in love with the car, so I placed a deposit down on the car and made the call the following day. I decided to sell my E90 as BMW offered me a naff value for the car, so I stuck a rather crappy ad on facebook and it took all of 1 day to sell it, guy from Clapham, didn't even want a saloon but seen mine and fell in love.

Now for the F30.
I'll not bore you will every minute detail but the important bits are...
Professional Nav
M Sport Brake kit
M Sport+ package
Adaptive LED Headlights
6 cylinders and a Turbo

I absolutely love it, I know Silvers boring as hell and I always said I'd never buy a Silver car but it's a bit different than your regular Silver. One push of that sport button and the valve opens on the exhaust, not so much snap but lots of crackle and pop. Every time I drive it, its a pleasure. I was informed YE registrations on BMW's are BMW Management cars, not that anybody would know now its got the Y13 AMD plate on it.

That's lovely. Silver suits it well.

I can imagine the fuel bill will be a shock..lol

Not that to bad, I was getting 19.5 the first week ha ha ha. Now I'm getting between 33-37mpg depends on the run. If Im honest, I was worried about that but now I'm just of the attitude of if it gets to quarter of a tank I just fill it up.

Those exhausts are proper loud when the valves open, but they do sound good! Get the diff for it now.

Get the diff LOL, I need to get a diff but it isn't for this car, though at the price of a diff for a 182 it may as well be for the BM. I have however bought H&R springs for it ha ha ha.

The diffs for these are well over £2k! Lol! They're also not that easy to swap over as you need a special tool to remove the propshaft.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why, I won't be buying a diff for this 14 month old car.

Interesting!

Is it a BMW tool? I paid BMW to fit mine but was thinking when I sell I might swap them back round myself since they're sealed units (figured it'd be an easy job).

You say that. They're not very dynamic as standard IMO. With the diff you have on demand power oversteer in an otherwise sensible car.

The DSC light comes on all the time when using the power in cornering, the diff gives you more traction so lessens it to a degree, but with DSC off and no diff, you just end up lighting up one wheel which is super gay.

Lovely!

Your old car is exactly what I want when I go sensible. Do you mind sayinf what it sold for? Must have been cheap to sell in a day!

I sort of like how subtle this car is with 340+bhp.
Great family bus and capable of showing up almost all hot hatches on sale today.
Good luck with the car...

Lol! Good choice!
Cracking purchase! The only thing I don’t like is that you sold the car without shoving it on here. I would have taken it, looks bang on what I fancy for a run about
@Davyy

Thanks bud, thing is I thought I had less time to get rid than I did. So slapped it up for 6k (really s**t advert), BMW offered me 4k and thats why it sold so quick. You could play the what ifs game but it’s more than what I was going to get for it so I was happy either way. I do wish Id had sold it for more but then I think, am I just being greedy.

The vast array of M-Performance goodies available for these F30's is awesome.

Exhausts, Power Kits, Diffs, Suspension Kits, Alcantara Trims, Steering wheels, Various Carbon interior/exterior trims... BMW have done very well with this shape.

Well specced OP.

I wish I could say I spec'd it but I wouldn't have spec'd things like a heated steering wheel. I always thought, who specs a heated steering wheel, its not cheap either and it's not like you really need it... 2 days into ownership, puts the heated steering wheel on... best thing ever! ha ha ha

It isn't the "M Performance" exhaust @Sir_Dave, that's standard. M Performance exhaust is just a fancy back box and a non resonated center section apparently (Seb told me that).

Did you part ex your car?. Looked really nice.
Did you just come for pictures? Cough, post, cough, #25, cough.

That's awesome mate. If I had the money I'd trade my e46 330i tourer in for the 340 tourer. Love it.
