Clio 182 track car

Oh that’s not good. Hopefully you can sort easily.

Feel for you horrible situation to be in.

Have you got a pic of diff? And did it not feel or sound like it had a gripper in? Grippers use special oil aswell I believe.

Not atm no, but they took took the innards of the diff out whilst I was there and there was no plates etc just the planet gears or whatever they are are called. I only thought it hadn't been set up fully as he told be it had only been set to 10% locking.
On a fwd car, they recommend a oil for the box not the diff. I had been using redline mt90 which is the good stuff anyways.

I had an email reply back yesterday with it saying sorry, what is your bank account number/ sort code, replied with that and got a reply saying it'll be paid Monday.
So we shall what happens....
If it doesn't go through, there is still claim going through the small claims court for him to deal with.

Just came back from onshore from a short visit to a different platform over the weekend to find my AST 5100 coilovers have been delivered. However the adjustable top mounts are missing from my box :( have called them, and Stephanie will call back tomorrow as she isn't in today.

On other news, I have been told my money for the missing LSD will be paid today but could take 24hrs to show up.
We shall see what happens. If it doesn't, the claim form from the small claims court will be arriving soon anyway.

Update on LSD money - got it back! So with my refund from gripper as I had paid for it to be overhauled originally and now with the money back I can order a gripper diff and 14/60 cw&p from Mark aka northloopcup

I spotted some of those waffles in the cupboard, if I am thinking right the wife has bought me some AST's for xmas

Haha, you'll be a very lucky guy if you do :tongueout:

Looking good, what front spring rates did you go for? I see you went with 110nm at the rear, same as mine, I'm 90nm at the front...

Cheers bud, I have 100nm front and 110nm rears by looks of it

Thanks for letting me know. Still be good to see what you think as I feel the 5.25 that a lot go for is too short, hence I was going to opt for the 4.28 as it's a lot closer to the standard gearings 4.09

So the AST 5100 is now fitting along with the AST top mounts and Northloopcup hubs and also a PMS strengthened rear axle with PMS bearing conversion.
Had to order some new rose joints however for the hubs as they have got a bit of play in them.

You tried those springs on the road yet? Just picked my car up from storage with 90/110nm and felt sick as a dog once I got home 8 miles away.

If you're going slow in 1st or 2nd and hit a decent bump you end up jabbing the throttle and launchig foward, lol.

Not yet bud but it's not road legal any ways lol have tried bouncing the car and it is stiff :tongueout: looking forward to trying the new diff and higher ratio gears!
Forgot to mention have changed the discs and pads on front from standard discs and RC8 pads to Brembo HC discs and Ferodo DS1.11.

Few more photos

Haha :tongueout: did you have issues aswell with locking up too easily/ quickly?
Yep they are far too aggressive for the light clio's. I was actually slower around Oulton compared to OE pads they were that bad with locking up.

Mine has just snapped its aux belt taking the cambelt with it on the way to getting a full belt change, unlucky or what!

That’s not good at all! I had them lock up on me going down Bentley straight completely knackering both front tyres!

Clio is booked into Spires outside Birmingham for alignment and corner weighting

Shame about selling up, was progressing well an would have been great with the diff etc fitted.

Saying that if you break it, let me know as I would be interested in the gripper
