The non sticky grab handles arent that expensive to buy new from renault. The sticky ones are surprisingly 3 times the price.

When you say not that expensive, how much we talking?

I've just had a quick look on the scrapyard website that's about 30 seconds from my house and they've got a couple of 1.2 Clios in with electric windows so I'm hoping they still have some handles left in good condition.

This is from a receipt , think it's a year or so old.

It's the bottom 2 switch plates Google the part numbers . They were under 20 quid each back then.

EDIT - heres the first part number i googled. you can obviously get these from your local dealer

I think i'm literally the only one who doesn't mind the soft touch 😂 saying that, my door handles I THINK are non sport (think previous owner might have changed them) meaning only the top dash (which I don't have to touch) is actually soft touch. This could be why I like it. Ummmmm...........

Thank you @Clio Nabz

Well not all car related but a big things happened....

Me and the missus we went to cornwall for a week and had a great time. Got some fantastic pictures of the scenery while we was down there too:

And then a week later.....

I got married. Most of you who have met Emily, either at meets or at CSS/CSF, will know that she's a top woman. Really down to earth and a great laugh so i got a good one there!

Was a great day! Nice and intimate, and very personal. We had planned bigger wedding, but downsized and changed venue and date, due to a personal circumstance with my nan. Luckily she made it and we got a cracking photo of me and her too

So the car has taken a back seat. It hadn't been washed in over a month and was proper filthy. I had a few issues with it making noises, etc and i did briefly think about breaking it. Only briefly mind.

So on friday after work i decided to give it a much needed clean. Guy at work did he's megane too. It was like a little Renault Sport farm car wash!

So then on saturday i planned to go to work and give the car a good checking over to sus out the noises. @MrBlonde wanted to fit he's newly acquired Bilstein coilovers too so we had a tinker day.

First up was to check the ARB bushes as i noticed one was perished a while back.

After a measure and some homework, i decided to polybush them as its not a lot of money. I have ordered some road/purple series powerflex ARB bushes, both inner and outer sets from Euro Car Parts as it was the same price and local to me. Pick them up tomorrow - 25mm inner, 23mm outer.

Ive also ordered some genuine lower arms. Since doing my driveshaft/gearbox oil swapped my tracking is out of bonk again. This is odd as all i did was jack it up. Ive changed every other suspension part up front barring these so i bit the bullet and ordered a set from Renault Wolverhampton. Should be here tomorrow as well.

Next up was to check the brakes as i get a grinding noise under braking. Pads were fine, but then i see this on the rear near side:

37341766030_4a1ee03c90_z.jpg

Yep, leaking caliper 😧 (Ignore the split pin, i somehow lost the original clip) So after a wanted post on here and the Facebook page, i found a member who is sending me a full set of good working rears, with all clips for a good price. The reason for this option was i've never known the rears to fail so im sure its rare and the cost of new ones would be racked up quickly. Now i know i'll need to bleed the system again, but earlier in the year my nipple had snapped on the NSF caliper on a earlier bleed. I contemplated buying a rebuild kit but then found this company that do refurb ones for not a lot.

https://brakeparts.co.uk/shop/Renault/Clio/06-12/Clio 2.0 16V Petrol/

So i phoned up today and ordered a set of fronts. I also ordered new stainless steel bleed nipples too. They will be here tomorrow also. I will give them all a lick of paint before i fit them all. Will keep it blue i think, Although i am contemplating silver.....

Lasty, i bit the bullet and ordered new Bilstein rear shocks. The price was putting me off, but the constant knocking on rebound is annoying. Im also lower on the OSR than i am on the NSR. I spoke to Kevin at Kam Racing and ordered a set today. They will hopefully be here next week.

So yeah, thats whats been happening recently!

A final pic of the RB leaving work today because the sunset looked good

As said on fb you and Emily make a great couple, congrats. And as for thought about breaking the car 😂😂 yeah whatever.

Breaking what car?

Lovely photos Mark, especially the one of you and your Nan.

Also breaking? How much for the spoiler? x

Lovely pictures especially the wedding ones.

Pictures look great, congratulations also!

I only thought about breaking the RB. And as I said, it was a brief thought. I think with this car, the grass won't be greener unless I get a lot newer car. Sometimes it's better the devil you know.

Many thanks for the kind words and congratulations also guys:smile:

Thanks mate. Yeah it was wicked and turned out with the changes for the better. Been together y years. Looking at buying our 1st place now.

Congratulations on getting married @Dr Jekyll

Great update as usual. Have you changed your ARB yet? Its not a fun job!

Cheers Tom.

I haven't yet? I presume it's a ballache? From reading, it's easier to drop the subframe which @Scrooge clairfied the other day. I'm hoping to do it on the ramp but unsure if it'll be free.

Congratulations on the wedding mate  Pictures look great as always!

Cheers Dan :)

Yeah @Scrooge has been working his magic on mine to replace the front ARB bushes and its been a hard work! Though no fault of his own, we got a new clutch and the release bearing was broken, the steering column wasn't originally connected correctly and a million then the power steering pipe was f*cked! Apart from that it went well, however I think @Scrooge now hates me!

Not your fault at all mate, rusty subframe bolts, fucked rusty pipes and rubbish suppliers were the issue. Though looking forward to getting it back to you this week

  A special one.
ARB bushes are easy mate, I did mine on the PH1 and fitted them back with the standard length bolts.

Im going to order another set of stainless steel nipples for the rear calipers that are coming. Also, i've decided to keep the colour of the calipers blue, so i will paint the new ones tomorrow and the second hand ones silver with the carriers blue when they arrive.
