Apple 8/X

My battery tends to last two days and I charge it at night. I really don't see the point in wireless charging. Pushing a lead in to the bottom of my phone doesn't trouble me in any way.
I'd also rather not have a full glass phone. I seem to drop mine for fun.

It's a myth that the battery life is reduced with wireless charging.

It is less efficient however,

Constant drip-feed charging your battery is the problem, be that wirelessly or not.

Apparently, just jizzing electric into the air indiscriminately is just as efficient as a direct piece of wire from wall to device.....according to the people making the chargers that is

This also, phone would be taken on and off charge many times a day.
The research suggest keeping a smart phone topped between 20% and 80% is optimum.

Wireless charging has very little downsides. My £15.00 anker fast charger at home and work means i'll never need to worry about calling someone whilst still attached to the wall.

Then again I don't own an apple so the chance is my battery isn't wanked by now.

It's not 2005 and li-ion batteries aren't as fragile as they used to be, battery life is always going to decrease but over 2 years, some erratic charging isn't going to noticeably worsen the health

Only on C.S. would something as menial as charging a phone create such conversation.

Holy s**t, some people like dropping their phone on a charger some people like plugging it in. A new feature allowing the droppers to do what they want on the new iPhones allows just that and has no bearing whatsoever on everyone else, how much more is there to talk about?

Us galaxy owners need that bit of extra time saved on plugging unplugging leads to make up for the lost time having to swipe up and click back instead of just swiping the page back.

You are away what the concept of a forum is?

Pressing 5+8+9=94 lol

If I do it slowly it works. Appears have to wait a brief pause for the plus to fade back to orange before I can press it.
I just updated my old 5S and omg that is pathetic! You have to wait 1 second before it can manage another key input. You can spam numbers as fast as possible, but + - x and / seem to have a maximum press rate lol

Hardware these days pretty much identical, it’s down to an individuals choice of operating system. I really don’t get individuals slagging off other people’s choices though, you like what you like, crack on.

Yes I’m also bored of seeing this updated thinking there might be some news on the phone, such as how good face ID might be or some 8 owners reviewing their phone but nope just children arguing about how they charge their phone and which way is better.

Let’s have a more meaningful conversation, would you rather be fucked in the ass by a bloke but get a reach around or get fucked in the ass by a lady with a strap on? Either way you get fucked in the ass. Much like everyone buying a new smartphone does these days, only it’s your bank that’s getting fucked not your back end

Probably the latter tbh.

Anyway, pretty depressing seeing how poorly the iPhone X production is going, seems every other day there are new reports of even more constrained supply chain, apparently it’ll likely be well into 2018 before they achieve supply/demand balance. Eurgh.

One thing I hadn’t really appreciated about the X is that is gives you a screen the size of the 8 Plus in a body the size of an 8 (OK, not exactly, but near as damnit). That’s quite nice.

Yeah I actually hadn’t realised that either. Just looked at the dimensions and it’s a bigger screen than the Plus in a phone that’s only very slightly bigger than the non plus. Very good. I’m used to a plus now as well so it’ll feel tiny in the hand.

Not a fan of some of the IOS 11 functions.

Used to like just swiping down my notifications then swipe up they would go. now they sit there still.
Also the X button to wipe all new messages has gone. Can only do that on "earlier messages". WTF.

Friend has just said there has been reports of batteries bulging and cracking/lifting the back? Anyone seen anything?

I’m still on the fence.

After finding out about Samsung’s smart switch, I’m incredibly tempted to try an android device after 6/7 years of iPhone ownership

I’d get an iPhone 8/7 though if I was to upgrade. The X is a joke imo. From the £1000 price tag to stupid face ID that doesn’t work.

Touch ID worked perfectly. Why remove it?

I also like headphone jacks

Mini review.

I’ve had no issues before today when I found maps to be glitchy (for the first time since owning an iPhone) and Siri/map directions are too quiet when listening to music at the same time.

The music turns down but Siri speaks at the same volume rather than louder.

I found this little quirk. I was following a route on the motorway, while on the motorway, and it decided I was, and should be on an a road instead

That aside, all worked well.

Latest update feels good.

The latest update has completely broken my 6S

Battery last 3 hours tops, phone crashes 2/3 times a day and keeps freezing as well as apps not opening.

I’ve no idea what’s going on with apple lately but they’re really upsetting myself and a lot of other die hard apple fans.

I never thought I’d be contemplating an android device with me having iPhones, a Mac book air and an Apple TV but I think it’s time for a change.
