Absolutely no regrets about getting the S8 now, maybe if the iphone8 had full screen I might have regretted it, but not at £1000 for the X when I got the S8 for £748 all in with inc contract, spread over 2 years, and with a free gear VR.

Don't want face ID, mainly cos I don't think it will work and I don't won't wireless charging either unless there is cable option too.

Why does everyone keep saying £1000, its £1150. No one will be buying a 64GB surely, i have more than that in photos alone on my phone. Nowhere near enough nowadays with the size of images and vids.

I didn't want to want one, but damn, that camera.
X for me I reckon.

Pretty sure you can use either?

You store photos and videos locally?

How quaint!
I store them on my iphone, my Macbook, my time capsule and my WD Cloud. So yes, i do. Because when i want to show someone a photo or video or send a whatsapp image etc i dont have to pretend to hack into the CIA just to get my photo off my remote server and look like a f**king pleb.

Lol. I actually don't mind it. Nowhere near as good as iOS but good enough. Plus my phone has everything the X has but has been out for ages.

I would happily swap it for the X but no way am I paying a grand for it.
I tried the s7 for 3 months. loved the phone, but the OS is just no where near as good. had to move back.

Nice surprise on the cellular watch! That was the only thing stopping me getting one of the previous versions, can use it for data logging when running now!

Watch and one of the older phones for me (now that they have dropped in price since today!)

That face ID will definitely 100% work. Even though he fucked it on the demo. Haha. They’d never release something that was worse than Touch ID, which I think works brilliantly as it is.

They’ll be some crazy contracts rolled out in the next few days. I remember when it used to cost me £15 month haha [emoji1353]

AW3 cellular is currently only available with EE. Reports of it costing $10 a month in the US, I wouldn't bet against a similar fee in the U.K.

Yeah that's a bit annoying and facks it for people currently in a contract with another carrier. Eventually it'll open up to them all I'd imagine?

I'd hope so. It'll share the same number as your phone so you'll have to transfer the lot to EE if you want to use cellular straight off the bat.

Looks like you can't buy a SS watch with leather band either, only separately. So that's £800 all in if you want a basic leather and SS combo.

iPhone X - 256GB for me.

I'm hoping I can get it delivered before going on holiday for 3 weeks on Nov 13th as it'll take a damn sight better photos than my 6!

Was just thinking if you'd have to pay extra for the privilege!
Looks like i'll skip the cellular one then, stick with a gps only one!

What really f***s me off with Apple is their pricing.

I believe this is the first iPhone that is priced exactly the same as the dollar. $1000 is now £1000. HONESTLY, HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY THIS?

The thing that gets me is the X isn't that big. Same screen size as the S8 afaik. Surprised they didn't make an X plus or something.

I've seen a lot of people saying about this.
Appa the UK price includes all taxes, the US pricing is pre tax which varies by state. Once taxes are added, it's not that much of a difference apparently.

Apple do have you lot bent over a barrel though. They could take a step back in technology and charge you £2000 and you'd all lap it up.

I'm not sure mate. I think apple will be really surprised by lack of orders for the X. I would need to spend £1150 on the larger one and although I may get one that is a lot of money for people. I just can't see them paying it on masses.

What remains as a variance is completely and totally down to the woeful value of GBP vs USD. It's UK priced to account for where they think cable will end up, and while it's not too bad right now, it's expected to get a whole lot worse.

Did anyone moaning about the price vote to leave in June last year? LOL

Bout time Apple got into the wireless charging game, been long enough.
AR is a s**t gimick, been around for ages in various guises and never found much of an audience.

The sim in the new watch sounds good, Apple have long been attempting to kill off sim cards.

I don't know if I'm just thick but I genuinely don't get wireless charging.. it just makes charging worse, less flexible.

You can't charge and use the f**king thing at the same time. It's just a total gimmick. With a cable, it's plugged in and you can use the phone. With 'wireless' it's stuck in that exact location if you want it to charge. Mental.

This, I don't get it either. I like my mobile, to be, well mobile.

It's handy for cars with built in wireless charging pads. Can just chuck your phone in the centre console and it's charging. Pointless at home/in the office

My Nexus had wireless charging 4 years ago. Just sayin :)

Is it truly mobile if it's physically attached to something via a cable?

I think the point of wireless charging is that you have charging pads everywhere so it's always being topped up. In your car, on your desk at work, on the train, in restaurants, wherever you are, you place your phone down, it gets charged.

If it does that why would you ever need to faff about connecting it with a small fiddly cable?

Until now there was a VHS and Betamax wireless charging technology which was kind of holding back mass investment in the technology. Now that Apple have chose Qi I believe there will be a fairly rapid roll out everywhere of charging pads...which will further mean you don't need to be physically connected to anything to charge. Ever.

Wireless charging is the one thing I miss most from having a S7 for 3 months.

I had a Nexus 5 for two years and when I finally went to the 6P it was the biggest single thing I missed. I'm still not quite sure why Google dropped it.

At the time it did help that the company I work for is involved in the wireless charging industry so I had charging pads everywhere though.

I was thinking the opposite tbh, since iCloud I can't see me needing more any time soon. I've got about every photo / video I've taken in 6 years (approx 12,000), a s**t load of apps including TomTom etc and a bit of music (mostly stream now anyway) and I'm nowhere near the 64GB limit. iCloud photos just works seamlessly to keep the full size versions of old photos in the cloud so I don't use all the space.
