Just bought a 172 CUP

I purchased the stunning condition 172 CUP today from @Somnambulis. Very impressed so far with the car and hoping for many years of fun with the car both on the road and hopefully meeting some other like minded Clio enthusiasts.

Looks great and very original, enjoy!

Are you driving it over winter?

Have you driven a car with no ABS or Traction Control etc. before?

If not, you should be aware that winter is known as Cup Killing Season... lol

It will spend most of the winter in the garage and I will use the the other half's Megane 3. I've driven several older cars without abs over the years... In the words of a certain former Top Gear presenter "how hard can it be?"

To be fair, in winter conditions (snow/ice) I find a car without ABS and TC far easier to drive, but I suspect that'll be because my first few cars were original Mini's, no choice other than to learn how to drive properly with one of them!

I know exactly what you mean - I think I've only driven one car with ABS so far (and none with TC) and it's most annoying!

Welcome to the fold fella, I couldn't quite stretch my budget for this one when I was looking for one , I tried all kinds of mind control via eBay and pm , but @Somanabullis wasn't having it lol.

Did you get him down much from his asking price if you don't mind me asking

My younger days consisted of driving many a car without abs, my favourite by far was a 1988 Citroen AX GT.

Clean 172 cups seem popular at the moment, and I can see why looking at that[emoji106].
Is it true that coil packs are no longer listed for the F4r?
