Hiy!!

Nice thread.
Love how it straight to the point.
Bought all the awesome parts and build an awesome Clio
Et voila. Awesome track car! [emoji106] [emoji41]

You'll have as much money tied up in this as the Leon before long [emoji23]

I have a few more wee niggles to iron out now, and a couple more nice bits to fit, but the main plan is to get it back on track now and see how it feels.
I wasn;t really expecting a huge difference in power but it feels pretty nuts on the road now, so it'll be interesting to see how that translates on track

Figures not too bad, you up at KH on the 3rd for the CSOC track night?
It's a little more than I was expecting for what's basically a standard car with bodies. Drives really nice though so that's the main thing
I'm hoping to be there, assuming I can get a few wee bits sorted before then. Main issue is not having a front wiper at the moment and the forecast to be torrential rain 🙈

Cool little car this. The Ph2 rear end on a Ph1 does upset me slightly, but it does show how good a Ph2 would look in that colour!

Nice build, some nice bits gone into it. I could spend soooo much money with PMS. I just avoid their website 😂

So first track night done with all it's new bits. Car seemed to be pretty reliable but I never really got laptimes near where they were before as I spent most of the time worried about bits falling off 😂

I lost the gear selector circlip (again) near the end of the night. Really need to figure a way to keep those in.

Do you have any issues with the alternator belt mounted like this? No slipping belt? No overtensioning to prevent this?
Very nice car btw, I do plan on keeping mine a bit more budget than you though.

No issues with the belt so far. I don't see there being any, it's a pretty simple route

  dan's cast offs.
When you fit the circlip tap it in with a small punch just to make sure it's in it's groove.

Thanks for your reply. I asked because the contact area between the belt and the waterpump is not that much, and PMS sell the PAS delete kit, I though there must be a reason why they sell the PAS delete kit instead of just a shorter belt. But if you have no issues with slip, I like this setup better.

Probably because they can't make much money off just selling a shorter belt 😂

I have been. It's almost like there's not enough groove for the clip to bit into

You get the odd one that's just a bit of a t**t to do. Looks like it's clipped in place but needs a tap to knock it up a bit and then it clips in.

I always give them a tap to the side as well to make sure they are seated fully. The gap between the eyes keys you know though if it's in propperly.

Cracking build mate! Lovely attention to detail.

The engine bay especially is fantastic!

Your Leon looked bloody awesome also. Very capable looking car!

Got another track day in last week. Pretty confident now that nothing is going to fall off so I can start to turn it up a bit.

Absolutely love this car. How have you wired up the Dash2 out of interest? Patched into the standard loom? Or does it run off OBD?

Its attached to the standard loom for power, light, indicators, fogs and fuel guage. It has it's own sensor for wheel speed, and it's attached to my standalone ECU for rpm, coolant temp, lambda etc.
You can't run it off OBD on the standard ECU afaik, but I don;t have OBD anymore anyway

So got the ACS Motorsport roll centre kit fitted to my car
BrGxunZ.jpg

Cracking bit of kit, fits really easily, instructions are brilliant, and it completely transformed the handling of the car. First time out on track with it was like driving a different car. Really can;t recommend it enough.

Also got my wheels fitted

And another track night in. Forecast was predicting thunder and lightning all week, but we ended up with a cracking night, and I'm really starting to push it now.

I think the mods have stopped until the winter now. So just a case of using it a bit more until then

Need to replace the deleted under bonnet shot showing the tb,s, so I can keep looking at it.
